ADELA DESIGN

We engaged Adela to update our home and give it a lift. Adela listened to our ideas and came up with suggestions about what may work and what we needed to consider. At all times she was open to suggestions, punctual and easy to work with. We now have a home that feels more together and comfortable. In particular our master bedroom is very serene with new wallpaper and curtains and we are also in the process of finishing off a few projects. Adela Sivewright came to our home on the 22nd March 2021 to advise us on colour selection for wall paint, curtains and carpets. Adela was with us for 3 hours during which she listened attentively to our home renovation plans and ideas, and asked us lots of questions before putting forward any of her suggestions and ideas. This is something we liked a lot about Adela, as her suggestions and ideas complimented ours. Adela was willing to stay longer than scheduled to ensure that we were satisfied with her service and happy with the colours that we chose selected together. Anna provided us with samples of the paint colours we chose, colour samples for our carpets and curtains, and business contacts as to where we can select and purchase the carpets and curtains for our home. We hired Adela to help us source key pieces of furniture for a newly purchased double storey house in 2019. There were two reasons I hired Adela, the first being I wanted access to furniture which was not on my limited radar (such as Ikea/Harvey Norman), and secondly I needed some custom design work to convert a bedroom into a study, along with a walk in closet redesign. For the first point, I did not want my home to have a specific store feel, for example an Ikea home. Adela is very friendly and she helped discern our taste and style before reverting with an idea board for each of the rooms. Adela managed to match and source furniture which fit our then determined 'modern minimalist' style and most importantly, budget. I still get compliments on the sofa and minimalist extendable dining table to date. For the second point, I gave Adela a challenge in that I wanted my study to be minimalistic, with a table that did not have unnecessary drawers or support legs. Adela managed to design it and get it built, with the resulting floating table looking stunning. The matching floating cupboards which matched the existing house's inbuilt carpentry was icing on the cake. Adela also managed to source a carpenter to maximise the walk in closet's awkward space to include more drawers and extra hanging space, which I am very happy about. I thoroughly recommend Adela's interior services.

Thanks to Adela my home is now how I dreamt it would be. I’ve never come across anyone with such command and knowledge of colour and its properties. Most impressive though is her attention to details; I felt she took on this project as if it were her very own. That makes all the difference. Thanks Adela!
