About Us

Founded in 1968 by Jerry Mrozinski and Harold Peplau (now retired) Ann Arbor Carpets has been a local mainstay for homeowners and businesses for all of their Ann Arbor flooring needs. After three years on N. Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor, the store moved to its current location on State Circle. Then came a change to a new name: Ann Arbor Carpets-Flooring America. The change was made when Ann Arbor Carpets joined a 500-store nationwide buying group which added the advantages of bigger selection and lower prices. Ann Arbor Carpets-Flooring America offers every kind of covering for the floor, from area rugs to ceramic tile to bamboo, hardwood and even leather, with a showroom containing thousands of samples that customers can see and touch. Plus customers can take advantage of free financing, and a warranty that promises satisfaction guaranteed. Now a new generation is carrying the Ann Arbor Carpets name forward. About 15 years ago Jerry brought in his daughter, Jenny, to help run the business. Today she's the major partner, but he still comes in to work every day. Ann Arbor Carpets-Flooring America - 45 years and going strong!

They took over two months to complete a very simple project and twice arrived with wrong and poor quality finishing piece. Salesperson appeared to be inexperienced. Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience.

Ann Arbor Carpets removed the old carpet and installed vinyl flooring in a finished basement room, about 200 sq. ft. Their work was professional and high-quality throughout the process. I am very pleased with the final result and will definitely use them again in the future.

I have nothing to say but nice store very professional yet casual at the same, the salesman was very casual, and dealing with two seventy year old ladies can be a challenge. I love the carpet, we did choose the same carpet as before for upstairs bedrooms, but so nice to be clean and new. The downstairs to a walkout basement had an old berber, hard to walk on, and old. The new carpet makes the lower level feel so warm. Thank you to the salesman who helped with the decision. I cannot forget the installers they were fantastic!!! Great job!!

We had a Mannington sheet vinyl floor installed in our kitchen. We had the floor coved in several places which is a more difficult installation, but we like the look. The finished floor was beautiful and the attention to detail (coving, moldings and transitions) was first rate. Couldn't be more pleased.

Ann Arbor Carpets Flooring America did an outstanding job from the moment we walked in the door. From educating us about different carpet options to helping us decide which brand and grade would be best for our need. Quality service didn't stop there. Scheduling an install date was easy, as was the actual day of install. The crew were running late with a complicated job before ours but they immediately communicated that information accordingly. The installation crew were friendly, respectful and extremely good at what they do. The 3 of them worked together effortlessly and they were in and out in 4 hours. They removed the carpet, padding from two large rooms and installed the new carpet quickly. We had some tricky furniture maneuvers they had to work around but they greeted that challenge with a smile. It's wonderful to receive such great service plus a quality product to boot!
