Bakker Homes

Having designed our house for us, we elected to have Graeme Bakker build it for us. The home comprised two floors with sleeping upstairs and living on the ground floor. This arrangement suited us as it allowed plenty of room in the house whilst leaving space for our front & back gardens. The master bedroom has an en suite and a walk-in wardrobe that doesn't adjoin the shower area (many do this). The two other bedrooms are of good size, with built-in wardrobes and are served by a good sized shower/bathroom and seperate toilet room. Downstairs we have a small lounge, with wooden floor, and a large living/kitchen/eating area which is perfect for our requirements, and for most of our visitors. The kitchen is beautifully fitted out by a contractor that Graeme recommended. This living area has large sliding doors that allow further accomodation on the exterior fully tiled patio which wraps around the rear corner of the ground floor. We also have a study which is large enough to be used as a fourth bedroom if required. Another feature is a laundry large enough to accommodate a fully extended clothes airer and still maintain access. All through the build, we were kept "in the loop" as the project developed especially with design improvements that Graeme thought would be appropriate to our needs. These included higher than normal ceilings thoughout (heat dissipation), ceilings that followed the sloping roof-line (attractive and heat efficiency), doors to seal off the living area (more effective air-conditioning use) and his hand-built staircase. Overall, we were extremely happy with the work carried out. Whilst we over-ran slightly on our budget and move-in date, we were consulted at every stage so there were no surprises.

Graeme and the Bakker Homes team were very flexible to deal with during the building process. He displayed an acute eye for detail and suggested changes along the way which we found very good. We are very happy with the finished product and would highly recommend Bakker Homes.
