Cape Horn Illustration

My wife and I could not be happier with the services of Cape Horn Illustration. We first became aware of Phil’s work through the Ravenswood Art Walk and were immediately taken with his artistic ability to capture architectural details while providing a unique perspective. At first, we were a bit nervous because this was our first time hiring an artist but we could not be happier with the results. Phil listened and responded to all of our requests while still adding his own vision to the project. His appreciation for the ornamentation of historical architecture of Chicago is evident in every pen stroke, and we are proud to have his work adorn the walls of our dining room.

Cape Horn Illustration provided me with a wonderful birthday gift for my husband! Phil was very professional, courteous and great to work with. The turnaround time was good. The drawing of our house looked great and we have since referred friends to Cape Horn Illustration. We loved that we were provided with digital files so that we could duplicate the image and preserve our special place forever.

I contacted Phil at Cape Horn Illustration about doing a portrait of our home for my husband's 40th birthday. Phil was extremely responsive, offering to visit our house in person within the week (in addition to a picture I had provided). He was excellent in communicating the various dates of the timeline, and delivered the final product ahead of schedule. Speaking of the final product, I am extremely happy with how it turned out, and my husband also loved it.

Phil did an amazing job drawing my childhood home and several of our family's apartment buildings. He was professional, prompt and easy to communicate with. Our family is really enjoying his illustrations and I would recommend him to anyone who wants a similar project done.

He contacted me and sent me a preview of the work and then the final product which we adore. Fantastic work. Highly recommended.

Phil did an incredible job capturing the essence of my 1926 Key West style home. We had a chance to speak on the phone prior to beginning the draft sketch in order for me to have the opportunity to stress some of the details I wanted to have in the final drawing. He listened attentively and caught them all - wonderful attention to detail! Would definitely look to them to sketch a home in the future.
