Restoring the Past, Building the Future. Welcome to DMC Contracting, your ultimate renovation crew. We specialize in custom homes and large renovations; additions, detached garages, and kitchens. Here is a little bit more about DMC; My name is Dan Crump and I am the proud owner and founder of DMC Contracting, now in existence for over 5 amazing years. I started in carpentry over 13 years ago and for the last 10 years have worked in construction. I have worked with large companies such as Small Works, Mosaic Homes, Polygon and have experience on many high-end homes all over BC Canada. I have always dreamed of having my own company and now that I do, I am very excited for every project entrusted to me and my team. I have partnered with very experienced carpenters and sub-trades and we are energized and excited to work for you. We love a good challenge and love to keep busy on projects that people can enjoy for years to come. DMC Contracting is a licensed business and is a limited company. Dan and his crew were amazing! They did a very large composite deck with sunken hot tub and pergola. They were timely, efficient and very reasonably priced! They were extremely respectful. We loved the entire group. Way to make, what could have been a very onerous project, fun! We will for sure be hiring DMC Contracting again for our next project.

We interviewed multiple contractors to prepare for building an outdoor space onto our forever house. From our first impression through to job completion, we felt comfortable with Dan. He presented as straightforward and honest during the quoting process. We trusted he wanted to help us have exactly what we were looking for with what we had to spend. His team were great to have around. They were always on time and very respectful. They worked hard every day until the project was done. I have since worked with them on another project for my work and was equally impressed. I would recommend working with DMC for any type of project in anyone's home.

Before I met Dan I was feeling overwhelmed by our renovation project. We had just had a contractor pull out of our job at the last minute and frustration was setting in because we couldn't find the right match. We heard about DMC Contracting through word of mouth and from the moment Dan walked through the door I knew that DMC was the clear choice for our project. Dan's positive attitude and creative thinking at our initial meeting at our house immediately set DMC Contracting apart from the rest. Our job ran like clockwork from the initial phase of creating drawings and obtaining a building permit right through to following up on the last odds and ends. Communication was excellent throughout the entire job. The crew was always on time, they were always polite and respectful, and their work was first rate. Our foreman was a creative problem solver with a keen eye for detail and exceptional workmanship. I must add that the crew even went out of their way to ensure that our family dog was comfortable during the upheaval that the renos caused - I am extremely grateful that they showed such compassion. We are thrilled by the results. DMC Contracting helped us achieve a complete makeover of our home that looks fresh and modern while at the same time allowing us to save elements of the house that we loved. We would recommend them to anyone.

My wife and I hired DMC to complete renovations to bring our basement suite up to code to legalize the area. We had spent several months trying to find the best price and a company we could trust in our home. We have to say that DMC was the best choice out of all the quotes we got. The first day Dan the owner of DMC showed up and walked his guys through the site and set the tone to ensure that everything that we needed to get done was done. As a homeowner that likes to get involved, the crew was more then willing to allow me to help and even gave me tips to learn the projects that I was doing. The crew was always friendly and if we ever ran into issues the crew or Dan would solve the problem right away. I would recommend this company to anyone, they are trust worthy, friendly, professional and produce the results that are promised. Thank you DMC for helping my wife and I get through this project.

Our renovation consisted of: New hardwood flooring in living room, dining room, family room, hallway,stairs,updated railings, new heated tiles in the front entrance update fireplace and add new baseboards, door and window frames throughout. I was very impressed with this team they were knowledgeable, respectful, hard working. They were very trustworthy and I had no issues leaving them alone in my home. When I would return home they happy to show me the progress they had made. They took pride in their workmanship and it showed in the finished product. Not every renovation rolls out perfectly and we had a few issues, mostly me changing my mind. They seemed to expect these glitches and worked with me until we found the best solution. I would recommend this group to do any renovation.

DMC Contracting is by far one of the best and professional companies I worked with in my over 10 years in the construction industry. Not only is the workmanship and quality on every project outstanding, but also timing and schedule its planed on point. Having a precise schedule and any needed information up front, is extremely helpful for my own schedule and makes the job a lot easier to execute. My husband and I would recommend Dan and his crew for anything! We have hired them to do several jobs at our home and they have done an amazing job! They listen to what we're needing, make valuable suggestions and then execute everything above and beyond our expectations. Their crew is experienced, clean, polite and a true pleasure! They are punctual and sensitive to the intrusion of the renovation while it's being done. We wouldn't consider ever using anyone else.

DMC Contracting was very professional from estimate through to the completion of the project. The workers came at the allotted time and cleaned up after themselves. Every worker was friendly and answered our questions. We were very impressed that there was no use of bad language. Our downstairs bathroom now has a very pleasing professional look.

We had a kitchen renovation that was started by a contractor but never finished so we were looking for someone to complete the job. DMC was referred to us through a friend of our son and was 1 of 3 companies we received quotes from. Although we did not pick them to finish the kitchen renovation, we did eventually hire them to replace 23 windows and 2 patio doors, install wood returns on 13 lower floor windows, 3 upper floor windows and both patio doors. DMC took all measurements and were responsible to order, install and finish the window trimming. For some reason 1 of the patio doors was incorrectly measured or built and did not fit the intended opening. Rather than reorder the correct size of door, DMC chose to install a door that was shorter and wider than our original door "without" consultation with us. DMC went on to install the wider door in a manner that left it off center in the middle of a bay window location and "raised" it off the floor to compensate for the shortness. Therefore the trim is "wider" on one side of the doorway than the other side of the doorway. Having the door raised off the floor caused a hazard for people stepping through the doorway to the lower back deck. DMC was made to remove the patio door and lower it to the floor level. This error should not have occurred and was not handled to our satisfaction. A proper width and height door should have been reordered and installed as originally agreed to. Overall I believe DMC has potential to do quality work, but the lack of communication with us over the error of the patio door and their unwillingness to resolve it properly has caused us to give them this rating. This is unfortunate as one of their employees was awesome and certainly seemed to know what he was doing - too bad he did not work on the patio door issue.

Hi,

I am so sorry to hear about the negative impression you had of my company, DMC Contracting. However, I am a bit confused by your review. We at DMC, take a lot of pride in our work and know that our name carries along with the services we provide.

Let us clarify - DMC got involved following a bad kitchen remodel that had not been completed because it was not going well. Clients were upset with how the previous contractors had served them, and we were brought on to finish and fix up the job. We came back a second time to give them a quote on how much it would be to fix the project. We brought our ticketed joiner with us, (myself and my salesman at the time) to get a closer look at the project to do a good thorough investigation. We took a professional look at the job as it was after the previous contractors left, and attempted to take all emotion out of the process, as we could tell they were upset with the job the previous contractors had done.

After the second meeting my team and I came to the conclusion that this kitchen was well made and installed correctly, the only problems we found were: the boxes had tape edging which was not what they wanted, and the tile floor may have been over priced. All due to the quotes provided by the previous contractor. The biggest thing we found was that the job just had a large problem of miscommunication between the home owner and the previously hired contractor.

After helping them with their inspection, they went on to take that contractor to court and we did not hear about the out come. They were very nice and knew what they wanted, they asked us to give them a quote on replacing 23 windows and one sliding door. We gave them the quote and were granted the job. When we installed the windows we had a change-order signed for installing all new molding, casing the 13 windows, and installing another sliding door in the kitchen and casing the kitchen entry way.

When we installed the back sliding door, the door was set at a standard size due to building code restrictions. We offered to remove and replace the door, but they said they were happy with the install, and understood that if shifted the door over to center it we would be weakening the support structure above. They also knew a custom door would cost more and they were in full communication through this whole change order. We have the documents to back up this communication.

As for the safety of the door height, this was also explained to the client. If he wanted to have the door lowered then we could but it would cost more to remove the concrete threshold, and it would be vary close to the exterior pool deck. To be "up to code" you must have 6” of space under the door to prevent water penetration. This was also explained and they agreed to not go ageist the BC Building Code. Our documents also can back up this conversation.

We at DMC work hard to make sure the client is satisfied and happy with the work and end product we had no idea that the costumer was not happy and they have held this in for 3 years. Why they never told us of any discrepancies until this point - I am unsure.

While we understand your frustration with aspects of your project, and know that issues arise with any construction work, we at DMC have gone above and beyond to rectify any and all issues related to your experience. We have covered multiple expenses, and provided a credit due to the door being unable to be placed in the desired location. Despite the fact all of these items were agreed upon prior to installation and met manufacturer specifications. Our invoices outline the credit to them.

We hope we can resolve this issue and will look forward to working with enthusiastic homeowners in the future.

We had quite a large renovation done and we are exstatic with the results. Dan's workers and subtrades are superb. They are so picky and the follow up is second to none. Feels like a brand new home even though it is 20 years old. Flooring bathrooms kitchen all done on budget and in time.
