Anthony and Christopher Dukes run the company started by their father, Allan, more than 40 years ago. Dukes Workshop specialises in building and interior design, as well as furniture design. The late Allan Dukes, principal of Dukes Architects, began his training in interior and furniture design at the London Central School of Arts & Crafts while working with architects Dennis Lennon & Partners in the ’60s. A respected interior design practice, the firm worked on a diverse range of projects, including shipping company Cunard’s QE2 bars, restaurants, night club, lounges, public spaces, cinema, cabins, cafes and suites; such projects generally detailed all finishes, fixtures and fittings, such as upholstery, furniture, lights, and textiles. Allan graduated in Architecture at UTS, NSW, and offered clients a complete design service. A prolific career spanning four decades, Allan designed bars, cafes, restaurants, homes, office buildings, interiors, hotels and exhibitions. The design and project management service offered at Dukes is a bespoke service, tailored to specific clients’ needs. Time, care and attention are spent at every step of the design and building process. Getting documentation right for each stage of a project requires fine attention to detail, enabling councils and builders to accurately determine the scope of a project. Dukes have extensive design and materials’ libraries and have established relationships with manufacturers, specialist trades and industry professionals.
