Wagner Design Studio is a great organization to work with. Ian's ability to work through complex spacial design challenges is exceptional, and he's a heck of a nice guy to boot. We felt we wanted to work with a designer with the knowledge to design a project that can be achieved for our budget without sacrificing creativity. Ian excelled in this difficult task and helped us enjoy the process along the way.

Ian Wagner designed a one of a kind home. We moved in 12/19/14 on time ! The home feels like we have been here for a while. Warm , Open , & Strong. It's a one of a kind home designed by Ian Wagner and built by his Friend Hamilton Constuction.

My husband and I have worked with Ian on our project for about 7 years. He first designed our horse barn below/guest house above three story building. We ended up living there for five years as the economy waxed and waned. It was incredibly easy to live in this much smaller space since is was so efficiently planned inside and out. The design details, including subtle Asian influence to the roof line and large outside covered porch living space, and passive solar energy efficiency have been very satisfying. We have just completed the main house (around 4000 SF on three levels) and the same can be said of this project. We wanted the "Not so big house" effect, Asian influence in a mountain town, very functional open spaces with emphasis on energy efficiency. We have limited heat-losing windows to the north, plenty of south facing windows with large wrap around covered porch, and garage positioned to block some of the wind. The interior design work, especially the ceiling/beam finishes, are lovely and look like they are structural-not just for show and fake. The house is a pure joy to live in and is truly the house of our dreams! He took our design "emotions" and made them reality. And he worked very well with our contractor.

I hired this firm to design a home for me in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They did an excellent job in providing creative input, and an attractive and functional design for a complex project on a challenging building lot. They were very easy to work with and made the whole design process a very pleasant experience.

We hired Wagner Design Studio as our architect for a second home project in Steamboat Springs Colorado. Ian Wagner worked very closely with us on understanding our vision and what we wanted to create. Ian listened very well and created plans that exceeded our expectations. One of the advantages of working with Ian Wagner is that he has worked in the construction field as well as completed his training in Architecture. He is very knowledgeable about how to draw plans, but also on how it needs to be built functionally. When we had questions, Ian was patient and explained his reasoning on why he created the plans in that manner. Ian Wagner provided great insight on all building topics and was very easy to work with. We would recommend him to our friends.

Ian designed our Steamboat home remodel and our private home near Monarch Mountain. He also helped us with a historic commercial building in downtown Salida. A complicated project. Ian is very professional and his architectural scope is diverse. He is a creative problem solver and will listen to concerns, working within the constraints of a project to keep cost more efficient. He seems facile with many architectural styles. I am a builder of homes for 40 years and know when i've found someone exceptional. Our experience was extremely satisfactory and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again or recommend him.
