I have worked with Rice and DeTienne Designs on several remodel projects and am always impressed with their professional skills and creative ideas. In additional to their functional and smart solutions, they are endlessly artistic and creative. They are also organized, efficient and on budget throughout all of the stages of the remodel. They truly create beautiful and well designed spaces. I look forward to working with them again.

We worked with Stephen and Lynn on an extensive remodel over the course of a few years. They both have incredible organization and attention to detail which contributed to a smooth process and nothing going unnoticed. As a designer, they were very easy to collaborate with and loved the fresh perspective they brought. Their drawings and renderings were great representations of the vision for the space which they openly shared with us for our design purposes as well. It was a pleasure working with them on such a special project and grateful for everything they contributed.

I purchased a mid century modern house in Portola Valley in Nov 2017. It had gone through many successful remodels over the years but the kitchen left a lot to be desired. The house sits on a site of over 2 acres of a natural landscape of grasses, lavender, live oak, olive and manzanita trees. The focus of the kitchen remodel was to meld together the outdoors with the indoor living spaces:the kitchen as well as the family room, dining and living rooms. This was done with the use of a glass wall that can slide open to let in the outdoors. They also helped me select furniture for the entire 2700 square ft house. I was totally pleased with the outcome! The project stayed within budget and was on time. Through the remodel months,Steve and Lynn were excellent at keeping me abreast of the progress since I lived out of town. Highly recommend them!
