About Us

We are a stonemasons, established in Cambridge in 1896. Still a family-run business to this day, our core values ensure a quality of product and service which is unmatched in the Eastern region. Having traded from our current site at 615 Newmarket Road in Cambridge since 1903, we have developed large and comfortable showrooms which are open six days a week to showcase our product range. We design and manufacture bespoke fireplaces, as well as unique granite, quartz and sintered stone worktops, and we offer a large selection of woodburning and multi-fuel fires and stoves. True to our heritage, we are also renowned for creating outstanding memorial headstones and architectural stonemasonry. We are happy to show you around our stone yard to choose the finest granite, marble, limestone and slate for your fireplace or worktop, so why not pay us a visit?

We are extremely happy with the great work that Ivett & Reed did installing our stone worktops, and the entire process of working with them. From the outset, communication was excellent — the schedule and process of the installation were clearly set out, and proceeded exactly as described. Staff were always friendly and professional. The installation team, across the templating and delivery phases, showed an exacting attention to detail, and were clearly interested in explaining the various options available to us, so that we could make an informed decision about the finer points of the design. The cost of the project was very reasonable — and certainly competitive, as we did a good deal of market research ahead of opting for Ivett & Reed. And we’re very glad we did!

I’m a designer and I wanted to build a “Giant Island” kitchen. I needed a very large piece of stone and some knowledge on how to design it and found Ivett and Reed, a really fantastic and professional organisation. Their staff helped me understand all the issues and came up with some great solutions, far exceeding my expectations. They helped me save money by using every last piece of stone and their fitters took great pride in their work. I can’t rate them highly enough.

We’ve bought two electric fires from Ivett and Reed and had them install our fireplace recently too. I can’t recommend them highly enough - salesperson polite and helpful. Follow-up communication brilliant both by phone and email. The installers were efficient and professional (cleaned up meticulously after themselves too).

We had a new fireplace and woodburner installed. Excellent service from start to finish. The showroom is really helpful in giving you an idea of what you would like; it is very well laid out. The staff are expert in the advice they give and they keep in touch with you throughout the progress of the project. Dates are booked well in advance so the installation can be well planned. The fitters worked really efficiently and left everything very tidy and clean and we are delighted with the results.

Gave us helpful advice choosing a fire and surround suitable for our old house, offered friendly service, and installed everything efficiently - the team knew what they were doing and coordinated well with scaffolders and gas engineers. Pleased with the result as well as the process.

The professionalism and customer service were first rate. Ivett and Reed have transformed what was a drab dull space into a cosy relaxing space for the whole family. The work was completed as per the quotation and diligence and tidiness of the installers was exemplary. I could sit and watch the logs burn all day long!
