We just finished a build with Jered custom homes and have been in our home since the end February 2018. This journey had its ups, downs, lefts and rights. And as we all know building a house isn't the most fun. However, we didn't realize that it was going to be this way. Sadly, at the end of our build, we were left with a good amount of fixing, tweaking, and debate with our builder that would make your head spin. To date we still have not seen resolve on several items and have to deal with the logistics of sub-contractors to fix items in our "new custom home." I use the word custom loosely with regard to Jered custom homes. To us, the word custom lends itself to quality, and unfortunately Jered fell short in that area. The up side is that they are not a production builder and refer you to Steve Shuert architect to create your design. Steve Shuert does not work for Jered custom homes and his esthetic is great. Unfortunately, we feel that our end product is like a Monet. It's great from a distance but when you get up close things become messy. As a consumer when you question or voice concerns to Jered you are met with passive aggressive communication or basically told to shut up. Everyone works hard for their money. Your home is such a personal reflection of you. It's your safe haven and is one of the biggest investments you have. We wish you all well when you decide to build. Our experience with Jered custom homes was plagued by unclear budgets, poor communication, and workmanship that was questionable. We've attached just a few pictures; there are too many to post.

We agree that building a home is very personal and we make every effort to make it as smooth as possible. This particular project did have its ups and downs, but in the end, we maintained communication and delivered a quality product. All homes require some tweaking after moving in and the Items that are needing resolve are new items that came up after move-in. For example, an exterior door has bubbled out due to the heat of direct sunlight and has been deemed a manufactures defect. A new door is on order and has not arrived as of yet, which is beyond Jered’s control. Scheduling takes time when both homeowners work and with the current market, it is taking us longer to get our trades out for warranty work. For this, we apologize. Jered Custom Homes has been in contact with the client and have made every effort to correct homeowners requested items within standard building practices. And even after this homeowner has blasted negative reviews all over the internet, Jered Custom Homes will still respond and resolve warranted items.

Jered Custom Homes builds on a cost-plus budget and we worked with the clients to get what they wanted within their desired budget. You can only get so much CUSTOM within a $400,000 budget and 3440 square feet. It is unfortunate that this homeowner cannot appreciate the workmanship quality that they received.

This builder builds truly wonderful homes. We have watched this builder for over 10 years before selecting them to complete our new construction. We completed a little over budget by choice but were able to complete the project under the original schedule. We just recently moved into our home and so far so good!
