JM Remodeling & Construction

Our kitchen remodel turned out better than expected and we are very happy. We will be using JM for our bathroom remodel in the summer.

We signed with JM Remodeling back in May of 2020 to remodel our kitchen in our 1917 Craftsman house. We already had a finalized design (down to construction documents) so all that JM had to do was provide a quote and minimally adjust some of the areas (cabinetry). As part of the kitchen renovation, we would be responsible (keep the costs down) for the demo of the existing cabinets and purchasing new appliances, installing the floor tile, and purchasing and installing the countertops. We worked through the details and signed a contract in May of 2020. I selected JM Remodeling and Construction and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had (I have experience with 6 various renovations). Not to spoil the ending here, but the lack of communication, coordination and customer service by the project manager was consistent problem. Even more crazy the PM never called (once) or set foot once at our $65K project spanning 32 weeks (construction time). I find it extremely Interesting that their motto on their website says” we’re designed & built around you,” which could not be farther from the truth. The worst part of this is that it could have been easily remedied by a couple of courteous phone calls from the Project Manager over the course of 32-week project (quoted at 8 to 10). There onsite contact was great and tried to do everything within his means, but unfortunately did not have any authority as he was scheduled by the PM. After continuously contacting JM (as we had already ordered and scheduled everything on our end) about the actual start date, which finally occurred on August 18 it became extremely apparent that there was a response/communication problem from the Project Manager. Please also keep in mind that we needed to demo our kitchen and wanted to use it until the last minute (like anyone would do). Countless (weeks go by) emails and telephone calls were made to the PM on status and simple coordination/scheduling confirmations were never returned. I finally had to escalate the issue to the owner’s son (our sales rep) and I would get response and then it would decline again. Fast forward to 3/25/2021, in which the project was finally finished (no change orders or design changes), but still the PM has not provided the closing documents (confirmation of inspections). It was not until 6/3/2021 until I finally received the final inspection documents (after multiple unanswered emails). Hopefully, this provides some insight on my terrible kitchen remodel experience with JM Remodeling. The pandemic had no impact on this, just plain terrible customer service and no consideration for the customer.

From start to finish JM was there to guide every step of the way. Always one step ahead of me answering questions before I even asked. Every employee was respectful and kind... truly enjoyed having them in my home! I am so pleased with the outcome and would recommend them to anyone! You will be taken care of and truly impressed!!! So happy with my renovation!

We worked with JM remodeling on a couple projects. Fixing roof and siding. They did a good job and on-time. I asked them to give me an estimate on another project, it was during the late fall and they honestly told me, since it was not an emergency and project involved special material, not to do it in the cold weather and wait until spring.

They hung gutters and gutter guards at my home. In the end the gutters turned out fine. However I had to ask them to come back to caulk the ends and properly install the guards. I'm not a big fan of the gutter gaurds they used, and I think they were expensive but at least they were responsive when I found the problem. They quoted reshingling of my roof as well but this was outrageously expensive. They quoted me at nearly twice the price of other contractors I quoted with.

JM Remodeling listened to what I wanted and then provided a creative, attractive exterior update for my home. Great job!

They are the best in the business! Been working with them for the last 10 years and they are my go-to firm. Josh is the best!

JM Remodeling provided me with a new roof, no more leaks (woohoo). From the initial salesman to the roof workers, everyone was professional. I'd use them again.

Their prices are fair, the quality of their work is excellent and response time to inquiries is very prompt. I have chosen them as my general contractor for roofing repairs, total aluminum siding removal/replacement and window installation. All work was performed with great attention to detail and on schedule.

Excavation of dirt/debris and pouring concrete floor in basement. We are extremely happy with the job and they were very friendly, clean, pleasant. The timing of everything was challenging. But I've never had work done before so didn't know what to expect in terms of coordinating the pieces of the job. Would definitely hire them again. Loved working with Heather.

They installed a concrete block wall on the east side of my property, repaired a small portion of the garage concrete slab, poured a new concrete garage slab outside of the garage door, poured concrete by fence posts, poured concrete along the concrete block wall, roof repaired by installing missing shingles on the east side of the house, north side of the chimney and nailed existing fascia on the west side of the house. Each person was very professional. All the projects were completed quickly and timely with beautiful quality ending results. All my questions were answered by Heather, Jennifer, Dave and his crew. Each person was very knowledgeable about each project. I am very satisfied with the completion of each project. I would hire this company again for future projects.
