We hired Joe Comer to design a low-maintenance landscape plan for our yard. He is very talented and knowledgeable of our area with its climate/soil. He is responsive, easy to work with and knows professional people he would trust execute his plan. When we had to scale back due to our budget, he was very amenable and knew exactly the best places to cut. He recommended an excellent landscaper to get the job done. He rides by our home, on occasion, to check on the results, and recommends routine maintenance improvements. We would use him again.

Joe Comer of Espalier Landcsape Architects has designed several landscape projects for us. Each project has become a beautiful part of our property and brought us many hours of enjoyment. All of our projects involved hard scape as well as gardens. Joe is one of the most creative architects we have worked with. He plans the hard scape so that it fits our personal needs for the space. He creates a planting plan that enhances the aesthetics of the exterior of our home. He works directly with each individual crew involved (sometimes sourcing out the work for us) to ensure that the original plan is accomplished. His creativity, knowledge, and professional attitude make working with him a pleasure. I highly recommend this company.

Joe came recommended to us through our Builder (Aiken Design and Construction). We built a home on 2 acres of land that had been part of hunting and fishing camp built in 1902. The property was full of old growth Live Oak trees, Hydrangeas and Azaleas along a tidal river. After accessing the site for soil conditions, drainage, sunlight and ease of maintenance, Joe designed a beautiful landscape plan that suited the environment and our lifestyle. He not only came up with a plan, but actually showed up for the install to assure success. We admire his work every day. I would absolutely recommend Joe and Espalier to anyone needing a landscape design.

Joe Comer is a professional in every sense of the word. We needed an extensive landscape plan for our new house with a large lot and needed it in a hurry. Our site had areas which received very little direct sunlight and other areas which had many hours of direct sunlight. Joe came to review the sunlight and then produced the plan quickly. The plants and the layout combined to produce a spectacular landscape. We were so impressed that we asked Joe to go beyond the initial scope of the work. We asked him to buy the plants for us which he did. He arrived when the nursery truck arrived and showed us how to plant each of the plants and personally helped on the expensive ones. When we needed further advice, he responded quickly. His fee was reasonable. I have and will continue to refer others to him and will use him again.
