K Squared Builders - Dale Kramer

Based on a recommendation of a friend, we had K Squared Builders help us with problems we were having with broken brick steps and bad joints, a front door area renovation, fixing a structural problem in our basement and repair a water leak in the front door area no other past contractors were able to address in 22 years. The brickmasons were incredible and made our brick steps and porch look just as good as they did the year we bought our home, not to mention there is no longer any fear that someone will trip on our steps. The project team were efficient and effective. The front door renovation including removal of the door, sidelights and all framing surrounding it went as planned. The project manger worked with me to access where the water leak was coming from. He wanted to do it right rather than rush the door assembly/framing installation. I appreciated that!!! The front door renovation and brick work exceeded our expectations and the appearance of our front entrance area went from a 2 to a 10. We can’t believe how it changed the appearance of our home! I was also very,very satisfied with the price. The work will certainly help our resale value. The K Squared Builders team will be our go-to contractor for future work. They did what they said they would do at the price they said it would be!!! They exceeded our expectations in every facet of the project.

As the interior designer for the Putnam's project I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! The project included the full renovation of the master bath, hall bath and a powder room with shower. The details and finishing of all materials are excellent and fully express the design. I look forward to working with Dale Kramer and his team on future projects.

Dale, Lance, and the K Squared team were spectacular. After several years of sketching plans for a significant addition and renovation of our home in Chevy Chase, the K Squared team worked skillfully to convert the plans to reality. We remained in our home during the construction process and the team's careful approach to the work and impact on our daily lives (amidst the pandemic!) made the process very manageable. As any issues were encountered onsite, Lance and the team were quick to find solutions and keep things moving within budget. As a developer with an architectural background, I expected a difficult construction process . . . but was surprised at how well it went, thanks to the professionals at K Squared. K Squared completed a major renovation for us from Sept. 2020 to February 2021. Our project involved the extension of an existing bump-out on the back, moving the kitchen into the extended space, moving a number of walls in the original house, a new attached garage and mudroom, a new deck, and general modernizing throughout. Dale helped us get to a design we liked, and stuck with us despite our indecision at many points in the design process. Dale and Chris, our project manager, did an excellent job in planning the project and getting it done on time with good quality despite the many challenges of COVID. We moved out of our house for most of the project, and told Dale and Chris that we needed the place to be ready so we could move back in at the end of January when our short-term rental would end. They made it happen with excellent pre-planning, ordering materials early, and making sure that all the trades were lined up and ready to do their work as soon as needed. As with any big project, there were some hiccups along the way, but Chris and Dale always communicated the issues and proposed helpful solutions. We're very happy with the end result; very high quality with attention to detail.

We recently contracted with K Squared Builders to remodel our 1987-built kitchen and master bath. Both had served their purpose as we raised our family, but we knew that it was time for a refresh once the kids were gone. Dale and his team came highly recommended as they had done remodels for several of our neighbors, and after meeting with him we knew that he represented a quality product and was someone who had years of experience. He and his team were always professional and dependable. The original estimate was presented in written form, with a very detailed explanation of both the schedule for project construction and payment plan. (We had gotten verbal estimates from other contractors - with a project of this size, we would not be comfortable with anything verbal.) Our project began just before the pandemic hit Maryland, and fortunately construction was allowed to continue. The same two or three workers were at our home daily - we felt comfortable with the process of cleaning and masking that was in place for all. Although we had a few minor delays - nothing significant that impacted us - the project was completed in May and we have enjoyed our beautifully updated kitchen and bath all through quarantine. We also had all of the flooring replaced on the first floor of our (dog friendly) home, and remodeled a small powder room in the process. It has totally transformed the look of our home and we are no longer stuck in the 80s. The kitchen is more open, brighter, and highly functional with organizational components that make sense for a family in 2021. We had a wonderful, positive experience working with the K Squared team and feel very comfortable recommending them to others who are looking for a reputable, reliable, and professional team.

They did a great job we are very proud of our deck. I would recommend them to anyone. The team was very friendly and did a great job in a good timely manner.

Dale asked all the right questions and pointed out all the details. His design drawings and list were quite thorough. His "team" of workers were considerate, attentive to detail and pleasant. Dale and his team of designers and subcontractors are top notch. Their work is of the highest quality, they communicate openly and honestly, they were on time and on budget. I recommend K Squared without hesitation.

Dale produced an excellent design for our room addition and Lance completed it perfectly. I was most impressed with the levvel of detail in the sork. They are true craftsmen and perfectionist.

Excellent work, people, everything. Highly recommend to anyone needing work done at their home. They really did bend over backwards to get the windows part of the job completed by Thanksgiving.

Lance and crew constructed our 13'x14' grey and white screened porch as we pictured; with arched windows, gable ceiling, recessed lighting, ceiling fan and elevated walkway connecting to our existing deck. Some improvement was needed in anticipating potential issues with weather and contract details. Any and all concerns were addressed in a timely and professional manner. Our screened porch provides us with a beautiful and comfortable space overlooking all the nature our backyard has to offer. Wish we had contacted K Squared sooner!

Our experience with K Squared was nothing short of exceptional. Dale, Chris and their crew were meticulous with details and excited to use creativity in different aspects of our project.
