Modern Home Renovation

To some degree, hiring any contractor is a hit or miss proposition with Vegas-style odds...timing of work, contractor persons involved and specific circumstances with a contractor at a particular time...maybe our project just hit all of the wrong buttons. While the end result was exactly what we wanted, in my view it was largely in spite of MHR's efforts; I attribute that largely to our efforts and that of the subcontractors. I can hire the right subcontractors and supervise them on my own to ensure the quality is up to my expectations, but I pay a general contractor to help get the ideas out of my head, into a plan and then into real-life and to minimize the disruption on my quality of life. Modern Home struck out on nearly all of these objectives, telling us they couldn't design as we desired largely due to what we viewed as an unwillingness to put forth the effort to solve the hurdles to give us what we wanted. If we had been less stubborn and accepted the laziness on their part, we would have gotten what THEY wanted to provide to us, not what we wanted. In the end, due to our insistence, we figured out how to get it done, and at no additional cost. In addition, we had to spend significant time giving oversight to the subcontractors to ensure things were done in the manner which had been previously agreed to with MHR including taking significant time off from work. Once the work was completed they then attempted to bill us for material overruns which were due to MH ordering more than 2 times the quantity needed per the original design plan. If you hire these guys, question constantly, quality check religiously and don't accept any supplemental billings without making a thorough review; however, we are in the process of starting a large outdoor project and I don't plan to make the same mistake again...

Modern Home Renovation replaced our shower with a gorgeous seamless glass enclosure, surrounding tile, new porcelain tile flooring and placed accent tile in the shower that carried over to the tub and made the old one look new again. They also replaced the tile flooring in the kitchen, breakfast, and guest bath as well as new backsplash. If you've ever done this before you know it can be a dusty mess. Our project manager, Jorge, made sure we were comfortable, and the project stayed on schedule. He was there to check on matters each day. Belinda helped us keep up with expensis and Summer designed and pulled our ideas together. What a team!

I hired Modern Home Renovations to replace my hot water heater. The process was very easy from start to finish. The rep came out to give me an estimate that was fair. The work was done quickly and cleanly. The new water heater works great. I would recommend Modern Home Renovations for any project that you want done quickly and correctly.

After a multi-year search we engaged MHR for a very VERY large remodel design and build, where half of our house including the kitchen, laundry, and master bath was tore down to the studs and rebuilt, plus we added some square footage. From start to finish we had a great experience. Danielle was great for the design phase throughout the entire project, working with us from the very beginning and then every step of the way and came to job site to make sure things were going as planned. Linda was a wonderful interior designer along with her staff and is a real asset to MHR. The showroom made it easy to make the design selections, and Linda was also willing to come out to site as often as necessary to provide guidance. Jeremias was great as site manager/superintendent, on site almost every day and always keeping us informed and quickly responding to calls and texts when we had questions. The MHR craftsmen were also great - it is obvious they all take great pride in their work. I can honestly say we did not have one problem during the entire process, and we could not be more pleased with our "new" home. Highly recommend MHR!!!!

In 2013 Modern Home Renovation remodeled our master bedroom, bath, den and wet bar. They installed wood floors, new cabinets, marble and granite in the master bath, beautiful new lighting and plumbing fixtures, and refaced our fireplace with stacked stone. A complete makeover converted an unused space into a functional and efficient study. In 2015 we hired MHR again to remodel our upstairs bathroom. We are very pleased with all of the work MHR has done for us. Danielle, Linda and Gayla from the design studio helped develop our project with their vision and expertise. Our super project supervisor, Jed, was great to work with and went out of his way to accommodate us while at the same time coordinating the craftsmen. Tom helped us with our beautiful new front and back doors. The office answered our questions in a timely and knowledgeable manner. It was a pleasure working with Mike Wimberly and his entire MHR staff. We are thoroughly enjoying our newly remodeled home!!

We hired Modern Home Renovation to remodel our kitchen/family room and bathroom. They put in wood floors, new cabinet doors, all bathroom and kitchen fixtures, painted, & put in new appliances. We were very pleased with their professionalism & all of the work turned out well. We were especially impressed with the quality of the work done by the painters & the decorating assistance from Linda. All of the craftsmen are employees of MHR and it was nice that they could stop by as needed. There were workers here every day and they protected the rest of the house with plastic & cleaned up when the job was finished. They were almost completely finished in the 6 week estimated time frame--with just touch-ups the next week. We highly recommend MHR & will use them again.

In 2014 Modern Home Renovation remodeled our Kitchen and Den and we love the quality, functionality and the design. The renovation included new cabinetry, flooring, stone work, plumbing, lighting and appliances. The staff at MHR are very enjoyable to work with as they are very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. They were very receptive to my questions and my concerns were promptly addressed. I would especially like to thank MHR Designer Danielle as she listened to my likes and dislikes and designed a very beautiful Kitchen and to our Project Manager Jared for taking the design and making it a reality.

Modern Home is a fantastic renovation company. They performed our kitchen renovations, replaced the floors in our home and provided us with new front doors. The service was impeccable, from the design ideas to the men who actually perform the renovations. Everything was completed to perfection and on schedule. Their professionalism is unlike any other I’ve seen in the business. We will use them again for future renovations.

I had this company replace my front door. They were very knowledgeable about their product and their competitors products and pricing. After receiving a couple of quotes I went with them, it took about half a day, but they replaced my door sill which had rotted and painted the door to match my shutters. I am very happy that I can easily close my new beautiful door!
