Nortex Custom Hardwood Floors

Justin Jones spoke to me once after the Winter Storm where our home was destroyed. I found him through a contractor called Dustin Burell from Pro Service Roofing and Construction. I expressed to both of them that my main priority was getting our home repaired and back to normal as quickly as possible, even if we had to pay a bit extra. I asked Justin outright "How long will this take?" He explained that the hardwood would have to acclimate to our home's climate and that would take a week. Understanding this and having heard it before from other contractors, I asked, "how long before the hardwood can be delivered?" He said to me confidently "within a week." I told him that I wanted to get started and wired him approximately $19,500 as a down payment for the work and materials. Since then, I have received multiple messages from the contractor Dustin stating that he cannot get in touch with Justin Jones despite several calls and voicemails. He simply stopped responding. At one point, Dustin drove to Justin’s business to pick up the raw materials and deliver them to my house, since Justin had not bothered to do so two weeks after I paid him. It has now been roughly two months and up until just a few days ago Justin has continued to ignore our calls and messages. After leaving a very long voicemail threatening to sue him, Justin finally responded via text. He now says he is unwilling to do the work and that he will refund me for the balance after materials, however he has not done so after several days and is now saying that we have some sort of contract in place (which I never signed). It seems like he thinks he can get away with stealing why money and not doing the work. He is also acting as though he’s been in contact with us the entire time and the contractor Dustin is the one at fault for not relaying messages back to me. However, Justin was the one who directly told me the work would be done after a week, only to disappear for months. Justin Jones was also demanding that we communicate strictly via email, (not text as it is inconvenient for him) however his email address appears to be flagged and his emails automatically get filters as SPAM. This man has the audacity to get angry and call me “unprofessional” for texting him about giving me my money back and is giving me excuses like “It’s the weekend” and “my kid is sick”. It has been several days since his last message and he is again pretending like I do not exist and that he doesn’t have to give me back my money. In October of 2021 I was awarded a default judgement in a civil suit against Justin Jones/Nortex Hardwood Floors/JR Jones Holdings LLC. In October of 2022 we filed a writ of garnishment with Bank of America but were told that no accounts were located, even though we provided them with the account number that I had initially wired the funds to. This company is fraudulent and criminal. STAY AWAY!

The project was sold as a “high quality” project for refinishing hardwood floors & painting the interior, thus the $18k price tag for an approx 1900 sq ft house. The work was poor quality & incomplete. When I contacted the owner about the list of outstanding work, I was told the foreman (his brother) whom he assigned to my job was no longer with his company.

Justin Jones, owner of Nortex, was very professional and diligent in completing the flooring for my remodel in Highland Park. I would recommend Nortex to anyone looking for an easy and high quality flooring company whos prices are competitive.

Nortex Hardwood Flooring was the easiest and most quality driven company Ive dealt with thus far in my homebuilding experience. I don't usually write reviews but I thought id take the time to praise this company and its owner because they took the time to make sure everything was done professionally and with ease of mind. Nortex has completed several projects for our construction company. Justin and his team have been very professional, and the finished product has always exceeded expectations. Projects have always been completed in a timely manner and their pricing is always very competitive. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for experienced flooring professionals at a reasonable price.
