Southern Cross Ceramics

I had a very poor experience with Southern Cross Ceramics. The tiles were not well made and not value for money. I spent a lot of time with my tiler to put my concerns to the company in writing with photos. The compensation offered was inadequate and the customer complaints management was appalling. What was interesting was that when I discussed my experience with a friend they had also had similar quality issues with their Southern Cross Ceramics tiles that they had had to proactively manage. Unfortunately I was doing my renovation remotely so I could not be onsite to manage all the problems directly until it was too late. Very very disappointed.

I bought 16 sq metres of Infinity Centris Millpond through a tile shop at a cost of $2672.98 when my tiler started he found substantial variations in the colour in the same box! The batch numbers were the same, the lot numbers were the same but the colour sure wasn't the same. I was told by the customer service woman at the Southern Cross Ceramics that I should have been educated! I know that with a handmade item to expect some variation but not to this extent. Have I heard what they intend doing about it...NO. I had 2 ensuites to do but will be picking another tile as I do not think my tiler should spend all his time sorting colours that are supposed to be the same. The woman blamed the tile shop but my order was sent and held in one lot ready for my bathroom to get started. All I can finish with is thank God for the tiler and his expertise!
