We simply love Paul! He's done 2 projects for us already and is working on a 3rd. He takes our original ideas and turns them into everything we could ever want! He's thoughtful, listens to everything you say and is open to discussion on any aspect of the job. Paul is available to talk any time and answer any questions throughout the project.
Paul has designed a master bedroom suite and deck and is currently working on an addition.

We decided to go with Paul as our Architect for our huge house renovation, which included a second story addition as well as opening up the first floor and reconfiguring our galley kitchen. From the moment we met Paul, we knew that he was our guy -- his personality was a good fit for us and we felt that he shared a similar vision for our home. We were also very impressed by some of his previous projects, which gave us tangible examples of his work with which we connected. From the beginning, it felt like a real partnership. He respected our ideas, but at the same time was very good at presenting valuable alternative options based on his experience. In addition, Paul did an excellent job of honoring our request to maintain the craftsman style throughout the entire renovation (e.g., large exterior overhangs and roof brackets, new interior window and door moulding identical to the original, suggested new door knob hardware that would match existing 1920s hardware). Paul was also able to give us exactly what we wanted without having to stretch our budget too much (we asked for a second story addition with three new bedrooms, including a master, and two bathrooms on; and, in the existing space, a new kitchen, and a more open flow, which included widening doorways and knocking down walls). Furthermore, Paul's design was extremely practical and functional, which was exactly what we needed now that we have two kids (e.g., on the second floor, two generously-sized kids bedrooms and a bathroom in the front of the house, master suite in the back with hidden washer/dryer closet, and a beautiful landing play/reading area in between; on the first floor, wonderful kitchen with tons of counter space adjacent to an open informal dining area, and two first floor living spaces).
Lastly, Paul's contractor (CC Construction) did an AMAZING job. We were expecting our son when we began construction and they were able to finish the entire project in 4.5 months, just one week before our baby boy arrived. Everyone told us it would not be possible, but CC and his team kept their word to have us in before the due date, even working weekends (and protecting our roofless house during the crazy blizzard in January 2016!). We cannot thank Paul and CC Construction enough for their professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to our project. And we CANNOT say enough great things about Paul -- he is knowledgeable, practical and creative. We are beyond thrilled with how our beautiful home has turned out.

My wife and I are very happy with the quality of Mark Schwab and his crew have done in our home renovation project. Mark is very detailed, hard working and a honest person. It was indeed a pleasure working with him and his crew.

Paul did a spectacular job designing a major renovation of our 1930's era house. We've now lived in the house for three years and continue to be delighted with Paul's design. His houses (and we've seen others too) are classically beautiful but designed for the way people live today. And he includes so many subtle little touches that add to the charm of the finished design.
Paul also has established relationships with great contractors, leading to a relationship of mutual trust during the construction process. I cannot recommend Paul highly enough.

Paul Treseder has helped us think through and design home projects big and small. There have been three project specifically. 1.) One when we first moved into our house 10 years ago. It was not an expansion, but a signifiant reordering of the living space, moving bathrooms, taking out walls for a more open floor plan, and a complete kitchen design from scratch. 2.) A small project to think about how to best use built in bookshelves in our living room, and 3.) Now a large expansion to add an additional bedroom, bathroom, family room, and detached garage and workshop. Paul has a great design aesthetic, but does not push his own aesthetic to hard, he works well with you to understand what you are looking for from a function as well as aesthetic perspective, and weaves your ideas together with his to create classy, timeless, and very functional spaces. We have gone back to Paul multiple times because he does such a great job. He is also practical about economic implications, and has a good set of builders he works with regularly, while being open to other builders as well.

My wife and I have worked with Paul on several projects and he has designed four projects on my block over the last 10 years.
His sound design sense and ability to create sophisticated, practical , interior and exterior solutions, while blending seamlessly with the existing attributes of a given structure or neighborhood, sets him apart from most in his field.
As a carpenter working in the D.C. Metro Area for 40 years. I very much appreciate that Paul Treseder's work is informed by his knowledge and experience and not his ego.

After interviewing five others, we hired Paul Treseder to be the architect for the renovation of our house which consisted of adding a second story to our one story home. He most clearly understood our goals, and he was able to provide creative and aesthetically pleasing solutions to the challenges our house posed. During the renovations, Paul was always available for discussions. Seven years later, we continue to be highly pleased with Paul Treseder's design for our home.

I have now used Paul to create the designs and architectural drawings on two additions to two separate and very different homes. Each time he was very careful to listen to our thoughts about the style of the house, and the kinds of spaces we were looking for in the house. He worked closely with us through the design process - showing us different ways to approach the designs. He was very open to our suggestions and worked hard to adapt his designs to our needs and preferences. He introduced us to a terrific contractor and stayed closely involved in the process from beginning to the end. I would highly recommend Paul!

Paul Treseder is a wonderful architect! More than a decade ago we hired Paul to reconfigure the rooms on the first floor and design a three-story addition to our 1940's home. We love every change that was made. He improved the flow of the rooms; added a family room, master bedroom, and lower level space that appear to have been part of the original design. The house is now light-filled and far more interesting and attractive. Paul was very easy to work with. We started by discussing our goals and these were translated into designs that met our every hope. One important goal was to not overbuild our house but to keep the look and feel of an older home. Paul understood this so that the final results are charming.

Paul designed the remodeling of the main floor of my 1920s bungalow, which included moving a staircase, moving the kitchen into a room added by the previous owner, creating lots of storage space, and turning the closet in one bedroom into a bathroom. The design worked so impeccably that visitors have trouble understanding that this was not the original layout. Paul then design the remodeling of the basement. More than anything, this is what wows people -- and me. That beautiful, wide staircase now leads into a lower level of beautiful space that doubles the square footage of the house, and forms a lovely and inviting transition into the back garden. I cannot be more enthusiastic about Paul's work. It was the single best remodeling decision that I made.
Two different friends had each fired their architects in disgust. They then hired Paul for their remodeling jobs, and both friends are as pleased as I am with the results.

We went to Paul because of all the satisfied customers that he already had in Takoma Park, MD and the surrounding area and the fact that he came up with sensitive, creative and practical plans for work on older homes. He worked with us to come up with a renovation to a 1920's bungalow that met our needs and budget, as well as incorporate some unique and creative design features. He worked closed with the contractor to monitor the progress, make and field changes that came immediately, and guided us every step of the way with advice and wisdom acquired through his years of experience. When everything was completed, our next door neighbors were so impressed b y the work he did on our home, they him immediately to do work for them. We have recommended Paul Treseder to everyone we know who needs professional architectural services or advice.

Paul Treseder has done 3 projects for me. He is very easy to work with, he accepts input and changes well and will fight for important design details. Paul really excells at blending new space into existing space with an excellent grasp of traffic fliw and light. He is very good at oredicting and holding to a budget. His completed projects look as though they have always been there.
