Steve and his team completed a challenging project on our house, which is 80 years old and had some bad remodeling done over the years. The team was responsive and worked with us on the design, materials, and technical features. The cellar looks great and operates even better. Putting this review up now - 7 years later - because we had a minor service issue and Steve and the team (the same people) were on it immediately when I called. Turned out to be a routine maintenance issue but the equipment was still running great and keeping the temperature constant (hasn't moved more than a degree in over 7 years). I highly recommend Classic Cellar Design. They do fantastic work, pay attention to detail, and they have the same team after all these years. You just don't see that any more.

Steve Goldstein is a pleasure to work with. HIs product is very high quality and his attention to detail is outstanding. He works with you to provide exactly the look and feel you hope to achieve, and provides digital 3D imaging prior to construction which is a very effective visual aid. He is patient in dealing with architects, contractors and subcontractors when working in a new build environment, which can be challenging for even the most even-keeled personalities. His paperwork is organized and his billing is straightforward and easy to understand. We would hire him again.

Ok, having a wine cellar is a luxury and a significant expense. Some folks have unlimited budgets; we did not. Steve Goldstein and Classic Cellar worked with us and our available space and the end result was a beautiful, functional cellar that fulfilled our needs (>1000 bottles) and met our budget in a very timely fashion. Steve is very knowledgeable, personable and very detailed oriented when it comes to all aspects of racking, temperature and humidity considerations. He is extremely responsive when we had questions. The fact that they construct their racking in house rather than having it supplied provides them with added flexibility (and it looks great). Their cabinet makers (on site and at their home base) and the HVAC folks were excellent. We highly recommend their team.

I have had many projects done in this house and many others. I have never come across a contractor as good as Classic Cellar Design. Starting from the first meeting with Steve, contract negotiations, to estimates of time and actual construction, this firm did what they said, on time and budget. The care shown during construction for the rest of the area outside the cellar in keeping dust and debris to a minimum as well as the actual cellar construction, these people are pros. I am extremely happy with the job and would highly recommend this firm.

Steve Goldstein and his crew were true craftsmen and professionals. Pride and constant perfectionism and joy in what they do and provide their customers is what to expect from this company. Even when they had to sub contract a portion of the job, their was someone from their team to supervise and make sure the job was done right. These types of companies are rare! We am looking forward to our next project with this company.

I wish I could give Steve and his team 10 stars. I just don't have the words to tell you how talented they are. We purchased a new home in Virginia and Classic Cellar Design created a one of a kind, contemporary style cellar to fit the decor and and style of our home. Steve designed from scratch a cellar style that I don't think has ever been done and masterfully worked through the logistics of executing that design. All of the work was completed in our agreed upon budget (does anyone in construction do that?). I think Steve may be the only person I have met who has higher workmanship standards for himself than his clients. He way over delivered on any expectation that we had for the cellar. The team is courteous, reliable and trustworthy. They worked in our house for months before we moved and left everything in as good a condition as they found it. I would highly recommend this company for your custom cellar needs.

We found Classic Cellars on line after becoming frustrated with another design firm that wasn't working out for us. He creatively met our budget while maintaining an attractive and high quality design for our wine cellar. He completed the project on time, on budget, and neatly. Steve is an absolute professional, was true to his word, correct on his timing and was exactly on budget, unlike every other vendor of 12 involved in a 2 year and 3 month renovation of an old house in Washington. I would recommend him for sure. I only wish I could have had more vendors like his team. The final product is outstanding, a real showpiece in a house built for entertaining. Thanks for a great job. Steve was introduced to us by a friend and we are so happy that we followed through on the recommendation. Our wine cellar was made precisely to our specifications and at the highest, hand-made quality. Steve helped us through the entire process from hand-picking each plank of wood for the project (wormy chestnut) to working long hours on-site to construct, install, seal, stain, and plane the shelving and surfaces. When we showed him an image of doors that we liked, he hand made them for the space and ensured they sealed perfectly. And if we ever have any problems with the refrigeration, he HIMSELF will make the adjustments or repairs - there's no chasing down some out-of-state company and convincing them to visit the house for repairs. We do a lot of entertaining and all of our guests are in awe of our wine room. We love the final product and would recommend absolutely Steve!

We had an unfortunate accident at our home which caused us to rebuild our wine cellar. Steve and his team did a great job from design to installation. They completed the project on time and none of the details were overlooked. Working with Steve was the easiest part of our rebuild. I've already recommended Steve to my friends and would highly recommend that you should speak to him as well.
