About Us

At the heart of the practice is a commitment to quality, form and function – a philosophy that has earned designer Torren Bell an ever-increasing base of clients attracted to the unique liveability and beauty of his design. The practice was established in 1996 and over the past 20 years has designed custom buildings across Australia. We offer a number of services throughout the design and construction process, including building design, detailed documentation, liaison with relevant councils and other authorities, interior design and finish selection. Given that it is not unusual for a project to represent the bulk of a client’s life savings, Torren believes it is imperative to ensure each space is designed in partnership with the people who will be using it. Building a relationship with clients is pivotal to establishing how lifestyle can be enhanced in a new home or workspace that not only answers the brief, but also forges an exciting new design journey with a positive impact on day-to-day living.

He has an amazing eye for design and is way ahead of design trends. He listens to the client’s likes and lifestyle to design a functional living space with an original flair. He also shows initiative to problem solve any obstacles that may arise on the job site during construction. He has won multiples of awards and they are all much deserved.

We employed Torren Bell design to build our family dream home. I had seen Torrens work before and always wanted a house with his creative style and concepts. Torren was extremely professional with his approach and offered us great ideas that worked with the block we chose to build on, the budget we had in mind, and the functionality of family living. Torren started the process by asking us to provide a detailed list of wants and needs, and also to provide pictures of Ideas that suited our style. This approach gave us confidence that he could visualise what we wanted to build. The build will be completed in early 2018 and is looking amazing. The builder is very happy with the design that Torren offered, there has been minimal change to the design and the drawings were at a very good quality, this helps in keeping cost on track with very little variation work. I would have no hesitation in recommending Torren for architectural designs and hope to build another one of his houses in the future.

Over the last decade I have been involved in multiple residential development projects including houses, duplexes, townhouses & multi-unit residential developments, during this time I have worked closely with various Architects for the design & approval stages. When it came to designing our family home, being a more personal build, we found it difficult to chose a suitable Architect & the process stalled. A builder introduced us to Torren Bell, within weeks our new home design was completed & it looked amazing! Torren has excellent knowledge in design & materials, his fees are competitive & most importantly he listens to & understands the clients requirements & concerns. Our home is now under construction, Torren not only designed the home but has been a great asset a long the journey & is always there to assist us with any concerns during the construction process. We can not speak highly enough of Torren Bell. We have since engaged Torren`s services to design our new townhouse project.

Torren has been a pleasure to work with. We purchased our home while living overseas and knew we wanted to have the house renovated, but had no idea where to start. From the initial brainstorming sessions through to project completion, he has been attentive and responsive. Torren is easy to work with and showed creative flexibility, perfectly blending function with aesthetics and a coastal lifestyle. From our first point of contact, Torren walked us through the process step by step offering creative solutions to issues we hadn't even considered. In numerous instances Torren went above and beyond to get our DA approved with council which was very challenging due to the restrictions of building on waterfront. Torren designed our dream home. Its perfect. Although we had some disappointments along the way with our builders, Torren made our experience a positive on and became a monumental piece of the puzzle. There was never a question that he couldn't answer. His design ability is amazing. My expectations were truly exceeded.
