I am very particular and know exactly what I want. I just don’t know how to get it accomplished. I had a couple of design battles with a former interior designer so I went in another direction for our new home. The problem is, she lives in another state. But the good news is she had relatives who lived near here and she excepted the job! Jennifer is talented and not a one trick pony. When she says she sees the project finished before it is finished she means it. She’s an artist and she sketched me out a quick drawing with her finished vision and then in a very little amount of time, three rooms in our house were completed and we could not be happier. She was mindful of our budget and so much fun to work with. I did not disagree with anything because I loved and welcomed all of her ideas. My home was her canvas. We also commissioned her for two custom art pieces. She is amazing and I highly recommend her. Thank you Jennifer! G Smires

Jen is a pleasure to work with from the moment you open your door. Her beautiful face is warm and welcoming and she immediately makes you feel comfortable with her honest yet gentle apprah. She has an eye for detail and knows how to maximize your space, her advice and expertise on how to decorate and place items perfectly to catch your eye. She is budget conscience and offers real feedback that can set your house to be staged with excellent without spending money fully re-decorating. Her honest approach is warm and welcoming and she has a way of making you appreciate and love your space all over again and accentuate its strengths. Jen can take any space from blah to fabulous with her touch and creative eye. I would absolutely love to work with her again and recommend you consider doing the same. You will be glad you did!

I hired Jennifer to design the inside of our downtown condo. She did an amazing job and took into consideration everything I envisioned for our home. She was able to pick out all of our paint, furniture, and aesthetics with ease and swiftness. I would 100% recommend her to any of my friends or family with any project or home remodel. We love our new home and it is just what we envisioned but better.

We moved into our recently built house and needed a designer who would give us a clean sophisticated look. We were extremely happy with the professionalism and unique ideas form Jennifer Surface. We receive many compliments. Even our builder hired a professional photographer to take pictures of the interior of our home for his brochure! I would and do recommend Surface to Surface for designing their home !

After purchasing a house in February, my husband and I were tasked with a huge remodeling project (8500 sq. feet). We were working out of the state at the time and I had no idea where to start. I turned to Houzz to find a professional to help us. I was so lucky to find Jennifer. Her design talent resulted in a show stopping outcome. We replaced all fixtures, paint, flooring, artwork AND furniture. We extended a wall (Jennifer's brilliant idea) and added a fireplace and bookcases to the main living area that has 20 foot ceilings. Jennifer was the brains behind it all. She designed and oversaw every project. She does not miss a detail. She has an elevated talent for space and scale. Because of her, our home is spectacular. I worked with Jennifer in a complete kitchen tear out and remodel. She was very gracious to give me plenty of options to choose from. She answered numerous texts, emails, and made many mother house calls. The transformation from my outdated cramped 70s kitchen is due to the vision of Jennifer with surface to surface. Holly recommend her for any job great or small.

When Jennifer came to our house for our first meeting- she immediately had a vision for our home. We were so excited to get started, but I admit we had concerns about the expense of a professional designer- I had followed her designs on Houzz and social media, and knew she was the designer we wanted. I was so surprised at her high impact, but affordable ideas. Jennifer passed her trade discounts onto us as a customer, unlike the 20-30+% mark up you have with the others in the industry. Jennifer’s communication style is friendly, easy, non-pretentious, and direct. What further impressed us was the way she reconciled my husband’s and my different tastes to implement an aesthetic that brought both styles cohesively together. Our home has high level design now, while maintaining function and personalization. She put together vignettes with deep personal meaning throughout our home. We love that Jennifer used a great deal of our existing decor, but used her knowledge of the elements of design and creativity/artistry to create interest, comfort, and function. We were thrilled to learn of another perk of Jennifer’s- her donation of her time and resources to make homes nice for those in need or experiencing difficult times. She lives the “Pay it Forward” mentality and heart. We highly recommend Jennifer, and are absolutely thrilled with the results and look forward to doing many more projects with her.

We hired jenny and Ed to do our basement. Their ability to manage multiple projects while meeting goals and exceeding expectations made our decision a no brainer. Their reputation is flawless. I am a busy realtor in The Kansas City Missouri area. I never list a home without commissioning Jenny Surface. For 13 years she has been a very important part of my success. As an Interior Designer and Artist too, she has a keen and objective eye for scale and furniture placement. All decor as well. She can make any house look better even sometimes to the point where the seller doesn’t want to move. ◦She has the ability to politely tell them exactly what needs to be done to rise above the competition without hurting feelings. The feedback on her is always positive no matter how difficult the situation is. ◦Jenny is fun and professional. She works with my sometimes rushed schedule and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy.

We felt so blessed finding Surface to Surface! They are a company who does both Interior Design and all the construction needed. They were respectful of our budget and their design detail and vision is tv and magazine worthy! The response time to questions was immediately. They were so good to my dog and children. Jenny did a creative art picture for my daughter and it’s adorable. They are professional and honest. We could not be more pleased. Thank you Jenny and Ed!

I have used Surface to Surface in 2 of my houses. Jennifer has a keen eye for what will work in your house and where to place it. She works hard and is fully vested in every project she does. She will work within your budget and style of house. She cares about her clients and wants them to be satisfied with her work. We love our home and have recommend her to several friends! Her work speaks for itself.
