I paid Dan Keith a few thousand in advance for a job and he didn't complete the job. When trying to get my money back he told me he was busy with his family that weekend and needed a bit more time. He then proceeded to avoid my calls. The job was never completed and my money was never refunded. I just had the fence built by an actual reputable business but have had to accept that this man robbed me of my limited pension income that was put aside for this job. Dan Kieth is a crook and I'd recommend doing business elsewhere of you value your hard earned money.

Definitely stay away from this company or anyone named Dan Keith. This person got a deposit from my wife to do our deck months before the project should have started. I was not too happy about giving a deposit, but it was through a check so we know we have the proof that he received payment.
When it came down to do the actual work, he postponed many times to the point where he said he would not come and he would give us back our deposit. It took him more than 6 months to give us back half the deposit and more than a year later, he still didn't give us the other half of the deposit. It is clear that this person is a crook, a thief, and someone who truly doesn't care about other people. I've had a few communication with this guy, but Dan Keith is definitely not to be trusted.

I hired Carlisle Fences & Decks to do a small fence in my backyard. Other companies, wanted to charge double because of the drain in my yard. However, Dan was quite enthusiastic that he could make it work in the budget I had. Not only is my fence practical, but it looks so fantastic that my neighbours have asked for his contact info.
Because of his great work, I hired Dan to plow my driveway and paint my nursery. I have to say I’m completely satisfied with Dan’s plow it skills and my wife loves the look of our new nursery.
I would trust Dan to do any odd job around my house. Highly recommend

Dan has been great with snow removal for our company over the past 4 month. Hopefully we can work with him next winter!

Do not use this company!! First met with him May 12th and agreed on a price to complete my work. It included framing the deck and re-leveling it (as there was a corner that had no footing and sunk down), as well as putting the 1x6 deck boards on. He said we could save the archway and just power wash it which would make it look like new again. He said he was giving me the "buddy" discount because I played sports on the same team as he did. Gave me a quote and set a date to start and finish. He wouldn't show up on the date he had said and I would have to email and ask what the new plan was. He kept promising the next day and something would "come up" and he wouldn't show up and didn't communicate this to me. I was leaving my back door to my house open so he could have access to water and facilities. He then insisted that I pay for the materials before he started the job. I asked if he could order the materials and then I could phone or visit the store to give them my VISA. He said he didn't want to do it that way. He needed me to give him a cheque. I don't have cheques anymore so he said I needed to e-transfer the materials total to him before he would start. He talked about how he had been burned in the past, (including his Step Father for $2000). I also said that I had been burned in the past and was weary about paying. He wrote me "It seems like we've both been on the wrong end of trust in situations like this. I won't let you down... .guaranteed. That may not mean anything to you today but tomorrow when you get home and see where we're at .... you'll be happy." He then said "You'll be happy... I promise. Don't make a lot of promises... And we can wash it down." He showed up on the 30th around 10am, I returned home at 3:10pm and he had already stopped for the day. I immediately noticed that the corner that was sunk down previously had been raised up but still wasn't level with the rest of the deck. He told me that he tried to level it but it had created a wave effect and he figured this was the best option. (I wish he had called or something and not finished that section without consulting me.) He then started to pack up his tools and I offered him my garage to store his tools in. He came back some time after 9:15 (when I left my house) and when I returned home at 3pm he was already gone and his tools were in my garage. He had put a header on the end of my deck (which wasn't level with the rest of the deck) and asked if they could just finish it there and not include the angled part of the deck (4 x 8 section) which originally had the archway on it. (It was going to be difficult to raise the framework and make it level with the rest of the deck. He had framed the big rectangle part of the deck and tacked the beginning, middle and end of each deck board. Didn't show up Friday. Came to my house on Saturday to talk about the remaining deck. He tried to convince me that the deck looked fine without the angle part. I insisted that I wanted the deck the way it was before he had started. We then discussed and agreed on a way to level that part of the framing. He went home and on the way home asked "Totally forgot to ask if you care if you pay my brother today. I know we have a little work to do still but I'm sure you can see we're gong to get this done for you. Alsooooooo I have concrete in my truck. And a good idea for metal." (the concrete and metal were part of what we had discussed to fix the remaining framework). I sent him the final payment for the deck trusting that he would get it done. I asked for an invoice of the materials and he said he would get that for me and refund me any extra I may have paid. Long story short...... he never came back. Many emails back and forth. He claims that I was putting too much pressure on him and that he wasn't making any money to do this job. I reframed the angle part of the deck, cut and placed the boards on it, put screws in every joist as he had only put in beginning, middle and end, ripped some boards to finish off the deck closest to the house, replaced 4 boards that had cracked when they put them in, had the archway powerwashed and put up, and made the long sawcut to even out the end pieces on the deck. I also went to where he had purchased the materials and had them figure out the cost of the materials that were used. (He had charged an extra $500-600 on top of the materials bill) When I emailed to say the deck was finished and ask about the materials cost, he chose to insult and cut me up. I trusted him and in the end he burned me despite the many promises. And there has been no offer of a refund for work he promised to do (and never did) or the extra money he took for "materials".
