BHI was founded in 1981 and we are now an integrated design practice covering architecture, urban design, interior design, heritage and research + planning. BHI has offices in Sydney, South Coast NSW, and the Sunshine Coast in QLD. Working across all sectors including mixed-use, commercial, multi-unit and single residential, industrial, cultural facilities, public buildings, seniors living, tourism developments, and infrastructure. Just to name a few. Our relationships and understanding of the brief, together with our research and analysis, allows BHI to meet the expectations of the client and achieve successful outcomes. Our philosophy is about the synthesis of context, functionality, and sustainability having a specific vision and design approach to each project. We have a culture of designing for economic, environmental, cultural and social sustainability providing innovative and cost effective solutions. The work of BHI Architects is based on design excellence and close communication with the client, directors, and the design teams through all stages of the project. The 30+ years experience of BHI, coupled with core sustainability knowledge and research ability, forms the focus of the integrated design process that drives BHI Projects from concept to project delivery. We manage the project in a collaborative manner as a single team including consultants, client, specialist designers and other stakeholders. BHI is a member of the Green Building Council of Australia, registered with the NSW Architect’s Registration Board and utilizes Environmental & Quality Management Systems.
