I work in the building & construction industry and have completed several builds where Bohdan Dorniak & Co were the Architects and Project Managers on the build. As a builder, I have always found his plans very thorough and easy to interpret. Not to mention, he and his Team were always available to talk through any queries along the way. Hence, when it came to building my own home, it was a no-brainer that I would enlist the services of Bohdan Dorniak to draw up the plans for my straw bale house. Bohdan specialises in environmentally sustainable design and shares the same ethos and understood exactly what my wife and I wanted to achieve with our home. He conducted a tour of our building site and listened to our needs. He followed our concept ideas and made practical suggestions about things we hadn’t even thought about. His eye for detail and ensuring that he designed a house that would suit our lifestyle and the block we are building on were beyond expectation. Bohdan and his wonderful Team took care of all of the red tape and obtained all levels of council approval. When we needed to make a minor change to our building timeline all of this was organised by Bohdan’s Team direct with council with no fuss. For a stress-free build with comprehensive plans and a Team that listen, my wife and I cannot rate Bohdan Dorniak & Co highly enough!

Bohdan and Andrew were really helpful. They took our needs on board, as well as providing sound honest advice. They were flexible in making amendments, even at later stages. Andrew even came and helped us with our strawbale building! Bohdan, Andrew, and Co were great architects and a perfect complement to the other strawbale specialists in SA.

I have highly recommended Bohdan Dorniak architects to anyone considering a new build, renovation or an addition. Bohdan and his team are very knowledgable, professional and friendly. I first met Bohdan Dorniak in 2010, when my wife and I attended an open day at the Food Forest in Gawler, South Australia. Bohdan gave a presentation on energy efficient homes and passive solar design. Then he led a tour of the many straw bale buildings and structures on the property, providing lots of useful information and answering questions. We were impressed with Bohdan and his team and in 2011 engaged Bohdan Dorniak Architects to design an extension for us. We found Bohdan very easy to work with. He listened to our wants and needs and was able to incorporate these, along with site specific and budget restraints, council requirements and many green and eco design considerations, into a chohesive design. He contributed many of his own ideas and solutions along the way, such as a compact three way bathroom design that feels spacious and has a great flow, despite a very small footprint. Bohdan and his team liaised which council, got us planning and building approval and was happy to assist with any issues as they arose throughout the building process.
