Pippin Home Designs, Inc
Architects in Mecklenburg County, NC
Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars10 January 2013
“Jenny Pippin of Pippin Home Designs can design anything. ...from huge homes to small ones. She listens to her clients, designs liveable homes and takes advantage of any and all views. She is highly capable, artistic and yet reasonable. She designed our home about 20 years ago and I wouldn't change a thing. It's on a sloping lot with only a small section that is flat for the house's footprint. It was a winner from plan to inception. I still love and live in every square foot.”

GREENTHINC, PLLC

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars6 May 2021
“We had a terrific experience with Greenthinc. Jim listened to us, looked at our notes and sketches as well as our space, and really heard what we needed and wanted. We got several options that gave us choices, to make our addition the way we wanted it while fitting perfectly with our home. Jim remained available to us and our builder for questions and advice throughout project construction. He provided invaluable guidance on sustainable materials for a healthy, safe, and affordable addition. We had a true ally in Greenthinc, getting answers to questions we didn't even know we had, and translating our vision into exactly what we intended for our mom. Jim's ideas really elevated our addition, his professionalism is impeccable, and we recommend Greenthinc without reservation.”

“Toby Witte worked closely withe us to design the modern home of our dreams. We came to Toby with a set budget and he did an excellent job of accommodating our budget while also keeping the important aspects of the design in play. Toby has a wonderfully creative mind and is not afraid to design a plan which is forward thinking while also based in traditional concepts used by his predecessors such as Bauhaus and Frank Lloyd Wright. Toby does a great job of considering the environment in building a "green" home while also taking into consideration how to incorporate elements such as sun and moonlight into the interior of the home. His use of the many windows, strategically placed, has been a source of pleasure for us as we enjoy beams of sun and moonlight daily. Toby goes above and beyond to ensure the home is structurally sound and to ensure that proper drainage is top of mind. Toby's understanding of modern style is paramount is his design and we were thrilled with the customizations.”

“We highly recommend Houghland Architecture. We used Gray for a two-story addition to our house. Gray's attention to detail is most impressive. He is creative, talented, practical and very easy to work with. Our new rooms blend seamlessly with the old. We would definitely use him again.”
Stephen Davis Home Designs, LLC
Architects in Mecklenburg County, NC
Average rating: 4 out of 5 stars5 September 2015
“Stephen adapted a stock plan for our house, which we called the Fieldstream. The in-office process was focused and creative, while the follow up and plan completion was perhaps a bit less timely. Nevertheless, the result in terms of functionality, flow, and great touches like the desk nook was great.”

“Roger and his team worked closely with my husband and me to create the home of our dreams. I had a vision for many years and they listened carefuly, made realistic and valuable suggestions, and drew my dream better than I could have dreamed it. The design for our lake waterfront lot was a happy blend of my desire for sleek, modern with the HOAs idea of contemporary. We fit in nicely with the neighborhood, but have sleek linear shapes and smooth textures. We were building on a very difficult lake front lot with extremely steep terrain and natural gulleys that held standing water. Roger and his team worked with engineers to make sure we lived "on the water, not in the water", creating a design that allowed the graders to push the natural running water around the house and down the hill rather than into the house. This gave us the wonderful opportunity to have access bridges rather than sidewalks - a unique and very eye pleasing addition. Throughout the design they kept true to my vision while helping us add the features necessary to age in place. It is a beautiful design and we will live here forever. Roger Layman Architecture made the experience enjoyable and low stress. We would recommend this team to anyone who wants to build heir dream home.”
