Chris Cole Architect

Chris is an award winning architect registered in both NSW, Australia and Fiji with over 17 years experience in the residential, retail and resort markets. Chris gained his early experience with a number of highly reputable Sydney based architectural firms, including Cracknell Lonergan Architects and Clare Design. In 2000, he set up Chris Cole Architect working primarily on residential projects in Sydney’s east including the design for the Woollahra House, a finalist in the Australian Institute of Architects People’s Choice Award. In 2006, Chris travelled to Fiji to work with Architects Pacific and the UK based design team, Wemberley Alison Tong and Goo, on the exclusive Laucala (Red Bull) Island, a €150 million development. Subsequently Chris was appointed the principal design architect on the Pacific Village at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China (awarded Expo Gold Medal Zone B for most creative display). In 2011, Chris re-established Chris Cole Architect with offices in Sydney and the Fiji Islands. His practice specialises in both small-scale resort and residential design. Born and bred in Sydney, Chris now divides his time between the harbour city and Fiji, a lifestyle that lends a unique perspective to his architectural practice by blending the vernacular with the contemporary. Prior to commencing architectural studies, Chris worked as a cameraman in the Australian film industry where he learned the value of creative collaboration and the skill of crafting an idea – both critical elements that underpin Chris Cole Architect today.
