We have used Clinton as our architect for drawing of our plans and DA submission, to a known local council who is very tough with conservation and planning rules. Clinton and his team co-ordinated our plans from concept design to DA application and recently, the approval. Approval took a few months and we are most pleased with how he and his team have dealt with the many conditions the council threw at us and being able to come out on the other side very quickly, with the intended home design we wanted initially.

We engaged CplusC for an architectural design & renovation of a two story 1880s Vic terrace. We wanted a home that provided modern, open plan living spaces and accomm for my wife and I whilst allowing for accomm of guests and family when they visit. We also wanted to maintain features of the Vic terrace. We worked with CplusC for 2 years on the actual design; it took that long for what was a FULL design/renovation. We continued with CplusC as the builder because of the relationship we’d built, the quality of their other builds and the proposed cost vs QS assessment of costs. The whole process from engagement through design and build exceeded our expectations. We’re actually sorry the project is completed because it means we won’t be working with the team at CplusC any longer. The result: an amazing home; it’s spacious, we ‘live’ on one level, plenty of entertainment space, ample guest accomm, fully automated and beautiful finishes (you do get what you pay for!!). We chose CPlusC to renovate our Newtown terrace because of their focus on sustainability, their general aesthetic, and commitment to quality. The benefits of having CPlusC as our Architect and Builder, meant that we were able to be more iterative in the design process, and some of the best design ideas came on site, during construction. The craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail across the project was stunning, both in materials, construction and service. Working with Clinton and his team is more like a partnership, and I am completely besotted with the end result. It's better than I could have ever imagined. CPlusC transformed our child care service located in a heritage building into a space with purpose. The addition of our art studio, communal eating area, decking space with timber shade structure increased flexibility while providing a beautiful architectural space for children and our community to enjoy. CPlusC had many challenges with this project including heritage requirements, regulatory restrictions, limited access and very tight time constraints. All of these challenges were managed professionally and seamlessly by the CPlusC team. They met all targets and were a pleasure to work with. 7 years ago, Clinton designed and built a house for our family that we loved then, love now and have no intention of ever moving from. He took a 100yr old house and transformed it for the next 100yrs. His care and attention throughout the design and build was excellent. We couldn't be happier with the look and quality of the house. His ideas of making the best use of light and Sydney weather in the design has totally worked. Timing-wise, things went according to plan for the most part. Budget-wise, we went over, but within reason, and the marginal cost over-run feels like an absolute bargain now.

We consulted with Clinton in early 2001 on the renovation of the family home that was built at the time iff Federation of which we were the 3rd Generation to occupy. It was to be a major renovation keeping the memories and heritage front of mind whilst delivering a functional, modern and striking living space. We had spoken to 3 other firms previous to Clinton and none fulfilled the brief and anywhere near our satisfaction. Upon our first meeting with Clinton, we were convinced that we had found the facilitator of the vision. His first sketches were warmly accepted and we gave him artistic licence to execute the brief. The quality of the design, workmanship, finish and communication was outstanding. The project was delivered on time (almost to the day) and to our total satisfaction. The relationship was tactile and rewarding. 16 years on, the house is as beautiful and striking as the day we moved back in. To say we are delighted would be an understatement. Thank you Clinton.

We found CplusC “on the “Internet” - and what a great find it was. We have been living in Hong Kong while our house was being built by CPlusC and we had simply “left it in their hands”. This suited us well because they were both architect and builder - and not only that, they were great people. The reason we decided to rebuild was because there was never enough light going into the original house (amongst many other issues). With this new home, there is natural light in every corner. It is also a very sustainable home with plenty of spaces for our three children. We wanted an inside-out house after 2 decades of apartment living and CPlusC delivered just that and, more. Clinton and the CplusC team designed and built our terrace home in Sydney based on a functional brief that demanded flexible spaces, amenity to air and light, and for every room to be used every day. We chose CplusC in part because they are one of the few companies offering both architectural and building services. Clinton’s design more than met our requirements and resulted in a brilliant reinterpretation of the modern Australian home. The build process took twelve months and the process, although stressful at times, was managed by a very talented project architect and foreman. Clinton has won national architectural and building awards for the design and construction of our home. Friends and neighbours comment frequently on its beauty and the detail of the design and finishes. Most importantly of all, we just love living in it.

We engaged Clinton and his team at CplusC based on a love of his work we had seen as much as his architect's bedside manner - Clinton and Mel, were able to translate our needs into a concept, that resulted both a practically and sensual through the building. The process of consulting our concept was painless - we always felt engaged, we were never left feeling overawed, our questions were answered promptly and to a level allowing us to take away confidence in the CplusC and the viability of the project. Our project is a work in progress as we negotiate neighbourly concerns, Clinton has remained a strong advocate providing thoroughly researched information allowing us to educate our neighbours and provide the best chance for our project to continue.

After months and months of poor communication and lacklustre design concepts with the other company, we contacted Clinton again for advice and with a view to transferring the project to him. We engaged CpluC to design our house for us and gave them a short description of what we like. Clinton visited the building site and after looking at what we have done with landscaping ect and what the area offers in terms of vistas and feel, he came up with a perfect plan for us. We engaged CPlusC to renovate our property. Their quality of work and the fact that they take responsibility for the entire process was what made us choose them. Following recommendations from an architect friend, we engaged CplusC as both architect and builders for our kitchen renovation and attic conversion. With 4 young children, we are a very busy, time poor household so having the option of a complete service from design to build, as provided by CplusC, was a wonderful thing. Clinton came to our house, met the family and listen to what we wanted to achieve. Clinton and his team then came up with a design that was better than we ever could have imagined possible and far from the usual cookie cutter open plan/outside inside kitchen renovation that every second house in our area is having. Having the builders from the same company meant the builders and the architects were on the same page and the design could be interpreted as it was intended. We could not fault the skill and quality craftsmanship of the CplusC builders. They truly have done an amazing job. The end result was beautiful, delightfully quirky, and most importantly for us extremely functional and practical.

Having worked with CplusC on a project in Sydney, we can easily say that we were impressed with both their design and construction abilities. Very few manage to combine both disciplines of architect and builder together as well as they do. We are fortunate to have played a part with CplusC in delivering a wonderful home to their clients and would not hesitate in recommending Clinton and his team.

I first approached Clinton in 2005 to design our new home on the South Coast after seeing his work in newspaper article. We met with six architects whom we liked the work of and initially proceeded with another Architect on the basis of the promises they made with the budget. We loved the design and submitted the DA full of excitement until the tender prices from builders came in after approval 100% over our original budget! In 2008 we engaged a different Architect to start the process all over again. We experienced lengthy delays in getting the design prepared and difficulties communicating with the Architect whose personal problems unfortunately became our problems. We eventually submitted the DA in 2010 only to have endless issues with Council and neighbour objections due to major parts of the DA not complying with Council rules. It was about this time that we saw one of CplusC’s projects in an awards magazine and we decided to approach Clinton again in the hope we could get the design we wanted delivered and approved for the budget we had. I don’t think we truly understood the value in engaging an Architect who was also a Builder at the time. We certainly do now. As this was to be our home to retire and we had lost so many years with our 2 previous Architects CplusC structured their service to deliver the project in a fast tracked time frame. Almost 15 months later our project is almost complete with a truly wonderful outcome. CplusC established a program that we both worked to all the way through the design process and they scheduled construction as soon as the DA was lodged. We set up budgets for each aspect of the build and CplusC detailed and specified everything to meet the budgets, mostly while the DA was still in Council. Clinton and his team have made up for all the issues we experienced in the past by managing our expectations and making it clear what we could afford for our budget all the way through their design services and into the construction phase. The budget advice they gave us allowed us to work out what we wanted to spend money on and what we could live without or make a compromise on.

CplusC were our first choice for our entire house renovation. After having discussed various options with other architects and builders it became clear that, for us, a combined design and build service was what we were looking for. The design stage of the project was fun! The creativity of Clinton and his team shone through with ideas that we couldn't have thought of ourselves, ideas that were based on real builds that CplusC had delivered rather than architectural whims. After having spent some time on finalising the design we we happy with, CplusC took the project through all council steps necessary with minimal fuss and cost. We agreed on a start date for the build and off we went! The build phase went broadly to plan - an entire house renovation in just over 8 months. The build team were fantastic and worked long and hard to meet the dates that had been agreed. The quality of the workmanship as well as the dedication to detail were first class. The build team struck up a rapport with our neighbours to minimise any complaints about the materials etc. being brought to site. Now we are still very much in love with our house and very happy with the outcome that Clinton and the team at CplusC have given us.

I have never written a review for ANYTHING, but I feel compelled to after the magic CplusC pulled off with the work they did on my house. I'm highly impressed with the quality of service and the genuine interest the staff display in developing personal relationships with their customers. The knowledge and passion they have about architecture and design gave me a lot of confidence and made me feel that they knew what they were doing. I met up with Clinton initially at a time when our proposed renovation with another builder/designer was turning into a complete nightmare. When i met up with Clinton to talk about plans for the renovation he made suggestions beyond what was obvious - the detailed stuff that takes a good house to a great one. There are many reasons why we are glad we chose CplusC over other architects. Firstly, their natural and balanced aesthetic strongly appeals to us and we are genuinely pleased and impressed with the quality of the construction of our home. Secondly, and as importantly, CplusC are both designers and builders. This has the advantage of avoiding disagreements between architects and builders, which meant a less difficult building process and minimises the unexpected costs that inevitably arise. Thirdly, CplusC are environmentally clever designers and builders: they design to minimise wasted construction materials; and their design and the materials they used means our ongoing expenses are reduced (we only need to turn the heater on for three or so weeks in the year, and don't use air conditioning, instead enjoying cross-breezes).
