MGA
Architects in Hobart
"We selected Maria Gigney Architects (MGA) because their completed projects, viewed online, closely reflected the type of h0use that we wanted to build. Our expectations in this regard were amply fulfilled. In particular, the house blends into the location and this was an especially important consideration for us. From the outset of the project Maria and Ken were invariably responsive to our requests and queries. This extended to issues related to dead lines and budget. The attention to detail is evident throughout the house - woodwork bathroom fittings and layout of kitchen and pantry.

"Tarema Cottage, Howden
Owners: Jill and Emlyn Jones
Project timeframes: February 2014 – July 2016
Jill and I engaged Rebecca in early 2014 to provide a full architectural service on our new build in Howden. Due to the location of the block and existing dwelling, there were a number of constraints from the outset. Rebecca worked closely with us to come up with a concept that was sympathetic to our original coastal cottage. The project was finished in October 2016, with Rebecca having professionally managed the build from concept stage to completion.
There were two aspects of Rebecca’s service that we considered essential to the success of the build:
Creativity and innovation: Our design brief was challenging given the limited space (footprint) for the build, the need to accommodate eldery visitors, and our desire to mix new products and building practices with salvaged materials. The end results has been a light, easy access space that has a superb character that respectfully sits beside our original coastal cottage. Both friends and visitors have commented on the relaxed feel of the building that feels far bigger than it appears from the outside.
Project Management: From the start of the concept stage, through to the completion of the build, Rebecca provided sound guidance on the many decisions that needed to be made. Furthermore, she was able to translate our suggestions and ideas into manageable and compliant designs. All the documentation, compliance with changing building regulations and contract administration and coordination of the builders was handled efficiently and with minimal delays. Perhaps the most challenging aspect was liaising between ourselves as owners and the builders for tasks that we wanted close involvement (e.g. joinery). Rebecca was flexible and agile with the need to change plans as the projects evolved.
In summary, Jill and I were very happy with Rebbecca Fullerton Architect and the outcome of the building produced."

Matt Williams Architects
Architects in Hobart
"Matt Williams architecture provided an excellent service that rendered together all of our ideas into a beautiful home. He was always professional and realistic with us, helping us to work within our budget. He was very knowledgable in creating a very eco friendly home, that catered perfectly to the Tasmanian environment. If anyone is interested in building or renovating a house with style, comfort and great architecture, my wife and I would definitely recommend Matt Williams Architecture."

Dock4 Architects
Architects in Hobart
"We worked with Dock 4 on a new house design. They were extremely respectful of our ideas, preferences and style, delivering a concept that not only met the brief but exceeded expectation. In terms of design, we felt they knew where to hold back and where to highlight special features or inclusions, creating a home that promises to be both subtle and spectacular. They were happy to consult with our preferred builder throughout the process and were able to clearly explain the process from start to finish, outlining expected costs, timeframes and requirements."

Room 11
Architects in Hobart
"A fabulous artist studio demonstrating Room 11's core architectural ethics. Use of cantilever like GASP, but small scale, angles, proportions and attention to detail. A wall that moves to open up the working space onto a large deck with screens to frame your view of the Huon River. Use of 6mm steel to compliment the celery top timber cladding which is gradually toning into its distinctive pink grey."

Misho + Associates
Architects in Hobart
"Misho was the architect who designed & contract managed the construction of our Sydney home. The result was so fantastic that we commissioned Misho to design and project manage our holiday home in Tasmania. Both homes were recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects with our Tasmanian holiday home receiving a commendation. Misho's designs are sympathetic to sustainable outcomes which deliver creative living spaces with reduced running expenses: highly energy efficient, water conserving and beautiful/ natural materials. Since meeting Misho our lives have been introduced to quality living spaces and how to appreciate the joy of living in such spaces. Our homes are now the places that we prefer to spend most of our time together with family & friends."
