About Us

Jason Fung Architect Inc. is a boutique architectural design practice that serves the Southern Ontario and Greater Toronto Area. The firm provides a range of services from conceptualizing, planning and developing designs for the construction and renovation of commercial, residential and institutional buildings. Jason Fung, the owner, is a licensed architect in Ontario. He previously worked in various prominent architectural offices in Toronto, and his experience spans from a wide range of projects and scope, most notably the Shops at Don Mills and EXPO Condominiums Vaughan Metropolitan Centre. He has contributed to the shortlisted St. Lawrence Market North Building Competition (DIALOG), placed 3rd for the Northern Ontario School of Architecture design competition, and won the Cannon Design Travel Grant in 2012 to study contemporary regional architecture in New Zealand. Jason holds a Masters of Architecture degree from Ryerson University, graduating with the Alpha Rho Chi Medal, and is licensed to practice architecture from the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA).

Deciding to renovate your house is an expensive and daunting decision. It's so important to partner with a team that truly listens to your wants, asks questions to uncover lifestyle needs you weren't aware of, and respects your budget. JFA did all of this and more. My husband and I worked with them over the past two years on a complete main floor overhaul and a partial second floor reno. Melanie from Jason's team designed a space that made our typical 3-bedroom Toronto semi so unique and useful for our needs as a new family of three. Melanie was key in curating material selections for us, as well as remaining a steady presence during the build phase. We are also thankful that Jason recommended two great contractors for our projects. Leaving meetings with Jason and Melanie was always invigorating due to the collaborative and fun nature they bring to the work!

Jason is an incredibly professional person to deal with. During the course of our home renovation, he would always give us good design suggestions without breaking the bank as well as introducing appropriate trades capable of performing his clean and modern designs. As stressful as renovations can be, Jason constantly reminded me and my wife to have fun along the journey, we will definitely recommend him.

After a fairly extensive interview process, I decided to hire Jason Fung to design and oversee a complete condo gut job of a space of approximately 1200 square feet - basically a full package deal. The project took about 9 months from start to finish, and throughout this time, I can say without reservation that Jason has been completely professional, timely, responsive and a pleasure to work with. Jason and his team were involved from doing the drawings and renderings, to picking tiles, paint colours and fixtures, and even custom designing the washroom vanities and custom millwork. He was even quite involved with many interior design questions that are often left to others. As such, the final project had a strong design coherence and consistency, and I could not have been happier. His judgment and design acumen were top notch, and I would not hesitate recommending him.
