Karlene is extremely creative and talented as an architect. We gave her a small brief of what we wanted to build as our home and she designed a single storey residence on 1012 sqm that was perfect for us. The kitchen booth, the drying room, the gym, the light filled living spaces and everything to the landscaping and energy efficient home was considered in detail. Unfortunately we didn't build the home due to the downturn in the property sector in Perth. We still have all the plans and a homemade custom built model Karlene designed for us so we could see the overall layout. Karlene is prepared to take some calculated risks with products and finishes and the end result is always exceptional. I can't recommend her highly enough.

I have completed two design and builds with McIntosh Marzec in the last 10 years and I have had a very good experience. Karlene is very consultative and highly organised with very strong attention to detail. She is pragmatic and able to offer advice on ways to save costs, where to spend extra money, and most importantly has delivered 2 stunning houses that "work". Karlene fully project managed the construction of the 2nd property which has made what would have been a very stressful time an enjoyable experience. She has good relationships with her building partners and has been able to deliver a seamless project with a minimum of hassle. Having had 3 kids and built several of her own houses, she has great insight into how to design houses that suits kids of all ages, as well as practical ideas that can be both money saving and an improvement in liveability. She is also great with other areas such as landscaping, furnishings, tiling, kitchens and other areas which eliminate the need to bring in extra specialists. Karl was the architect for our home in Cottesloe. It was our 1st build and Karl made the process so easy and the final product exceeded all expectations - it not only looks great but its practical. Being a mother herself, Karl was able to advise us on certain aspects of our house that will enable us to accommodate our growing family from primary school age to teenage years and beyond. Our budget was met as was the time frame to build. We have a timeless home that will look great for years to come - thanks Karl.
