“We were in an unfortunate situation where our neighbours gum tree fell on our house, causing substantial structural damage and requiring us to move out of home for 12 months. We dealt with the insurance companies panel of builders but just didn't feel comfortable with any of their work or with their approach to our project. We then started to look for our own builder and came across Demardi and they ticked all our boxes. They were competitively priced and clearly stated what was and was not included in the very thorough quote, they worked with us on design ideas and concepts and we built a good, honest working relationship with them quickly. Their previous work on similar projects also reassured us that they would be able to achieve our goals. Demardi started working on our project early in 2020. As Covid took hold, and new Covid government regulations added further stress, Demardi's approach to the project of focusing on our living quarters first, allowed us to get back into our house while work continued on the outside. This forethought and planning from Demardi reinforced to us their strong work ethic, respect for our family and our needs. Throughout the project the team at Demardi showed us nothing but respect and we enjoyed working with them. Clear communication (through a private social media group chat directly with Anthony and Mick, my husband and I) was a great way to keep everyone in the loop of important information. Anthony and Mick's ability to help us understand what was required from a building regulation perspective and to help us negotiate this was reassuring. Onsite, Demardi's team who all took the time to address us by name and say hello/goodbye every time we met and their respect for our neighbours while working on the project was commendable. They kept a clean worksite and left the space tidy at the end of each day. Demardi are a quality builder. We would recommend them to anyone needing to undertake a build or renovation. From all our research and the time we took to find the right builder, we are very happy with our decision.”

“We had initial discussions with a number of architects before we met Jane from alsoCAN and were becoming rather downcast about our planned renovation to our house. None of the earlier architects seemed to listen to what we wanted and charged ahead with their own concepts. Jane was different she listened to our ideas and also our desire that any design should assist us to keep with in our prescribed budget so as to avoid over capitalisation. Our property had 100 years of modification and attachments to it one build upon another and by the time of our renovation it was a complicated multi-time period property. Jane was able to take the vision we had for the property and enhance that vision with her experience and creativity. Jane did this through listening meaningfully to her clients, employing her own professional skills and a good dose of practical judgment and tact in guiding her sometimes stubborn clients. After many revision we sorted through a complicated structure developing a design that maintained the older part of the house and included a completely new modern back section of the property that was done in a aesthetically appealing and complementary manner. With our Jane's professional assistance we would never have achiever the result that was finally constructed and certainly not within budget. No one that comes to our house for the first time fails to comment on what a beautiful home it is and is in large part because of Jane. “We engaged Anne from Hindley and Co about 9months prior to commencing a large scale renovation of our mid-century home down in Geelong. We were exceptionally happy with her ideas, service, and attention to detail. At the end of this process we now have an incredible family home, which feels modern and 'architectually designed' but importantly still has a very strong mid-century feel true to our design brief. We had never renovated before felt and were somewhat overwhelmed at the outset. We initially met Anne and her colleague Nicole on-site to develop a design brief, and through further meetings in their office came to a design we loved. This was then thoroughly cost planned so we knew where we stood. She took care of all the permits and gave us multiple options/quotes for providers to do the BAL rating, geotech assessment, surveying etc (including a local quote each time as our place is an hour from melbourne). Once all the drawings were done and plans ready, Anne and Nicole then managed a competitive tender to find a local builder we were extremely happy. I feel this process saved us money in the long run. Things then got underway pretty quickly! Being naive to this process we decided to take up the 'full service' and have Anne administer the building contract. Truth be told the 1st 3-4months of the build were pretty much stress free for my wife and I as Anne and our builder liased directly - just involving us when necessary. The whole build took 10months. Every room was renovated and the floor plan received a significant overhaul. Anne was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Her fees were in-line with industry standards to my knowledge, and I feel we've got what we paid for. Anne also helped my wife choose a number of our key pieces of furniture and was able to access trade rates for a modest commission. So - Its all done now. We couldn't be happier... Time to have Anne and Nicole around for dinner and a few bottles of champagne!”
