We engaged Seamus following a recommendation from a school parent after researching local architects and designers. Seamus has been friendly, professional and patient though the whole design process. Seamus has been great to work with from developing concepts through to the fine finishing details. Seamus brought us several different layouts and ideas, all of which exceeded our expectations. We have worked with Seamus on several projects to date, our City Beach project was by far the most challenging; a battle axe block with a 4.5m fall & 7 adjoining neighbours. We provided a brief to accommodate our family over 3 levels, requesting a sustainable approach. Seamus created a design ensuring we had oceans views from the ground & first floor, ground floor views were an added bonus as we never expected to have them when purchasing the site. Council policy & neighbouring objections were a concern from an early stage, of which Seamus handled all negotiations, streamlining the process. Seamus provided detailed construction drawings, detailing the sustainable services & the complex construction of the concrete structure, under croft basement & finishing of the home in various high performing walls & glazing. We appointed Seamus after meeting a few Architects at our site. We felt Seamus was confident & could tackle our challenging block, in which we requested a contemporary infill extension between existing house and garage. Seamus takes a very practical approach to the design process, blending architectural features that usually exceed your expectations. He is a very good problem solver & his design solutions offer both function & great aesthetics. Seamus was also eager to ensure the extension was built to a very high energy efficient standard in which we achieved a 9.5 star rating. Our home received quite a lot of complementing comments from both family, friends & adjoining neighbours. We have since sold the home at a large attending auction in 2017. We have re-appointed Seamus for our current project; a custom renovation & addition to a heritage listed home in Subiaco, which is currently in Sketch Design.
