“Working with Jamie and the team at JBG Architects resolved our issue of a beautiful view, but a west-facing house. In summer the main rooms across the front of our house were out of bounds because of the heat generated from the lack of sun protection. We also wanted to maximise our front yard, with its vineyard views, as an entertaining area. Jamie helped to resolve this scenario, designing a deep veranda across the full length of our home’s façade, connected to a pool, entertaining pavilion and separate garage. During the process we also reconfigured some interior rooms, resulting in a parents “retreat” and a butler’s pantry for the kitchen. Our home is now much more energy efficient, we can use every room year round, and the pool gets a huge workout from our three kids. The description “entertainer’s delight” often gets used, but our home now really is.”
