Caracalla Design and Renovation

Phillip and his team were a pleasure to work with. They covered a large project renovating three bathrooms, with numerous major changes in fixture placements and walls, finished to a high spec with a lot of bells and whistles. Plus some fantastic shelves in our pantry. The team all went above and beyond in their efforts to achieve every detail we wanted. They were polite and considerate at all times, fun to chat with and cleaned up after themselves after every visit. They took great care to protect our floors and take the rubbish away immediately, so our lives were impacted as little as possible. The quality was consistently excellent and it was great to feel that level of trust in the work they were doing. It really was remarkable how well they all performed and the resilience and flexibility with which they tackled any additional demands as they arose. I’m sure this was not an easy job, but they never let that show. We have done a lot of renovations, and got to know a wide range of tradespeople in the process, but this was probably the best team overall that we worked with. Light years ahead of the last bathroom company we used. There were many things that set them apart from the norm. One of them was the in-house design capability (well, you could call her Anita) which is a key level of service missing with many other bathroom providers. One competitor, for example, visited then tried to persuade me to leave everything as it was and just retile and put new fixtures in. Another asked me to pay a designer separately and take that to him. Another tried to figure it out himself. We could not have achieved such good end results without that vision and that attention to detail in the planning stage. Another was their plumber, who was not only a ray of sunshine to see every day, but he had qualifications far beyond that of a normal plumber, so the value he brought was outstanding. Phillip himself came across as very professional but also a kind person, who had built a great team because he values and respects them. He was patient and well organised every time things got shaken up. It felt good to work with good people and we are very happy with the bathrooms we get to enjoy every day now. So we recommend them wholeheartedly.

This is a 3 year overdue review but it will give people a sense of just how amazing the work and craftsmanship is after 3 years. Honestly, don't go with anyone else! To this day our bathroom renovation is still looking as good as it did since day one of completion! Most importantly there have been no issues after 3 years. No issues with plumbing, tiles, grout, painting or any fixtures! Everything works and looks beautiful. Believe it or not we started our reno with Phillip just before the tradie lockdowns and all the restrictions! There could not be a harder time to do a job. Phillip was calm, composed and professional and it showed just how experienced he was it getting through it all. His team was an amazing collection of craftsman who knew what they were doing and made sure everything was top notch. I cant thank Phillip and his team enough for a great experience and amazing job. At the end there was no nasty surprises, everything was done on time and on budget just as he quoted. An honest and straight up guy to work with. I got Phil and the team at Caracalla Design to repair and renovate the bathroom in my one bedroom apartment. He was really pleasant and professional to deal with, and is also very accommodating to requests. He gave advice when it came time to choosing fixtures, and designed the new bathroom keeping the space in mind so the room looks optically bigger than it actually is. He took care to look after the common areas and keep them clean and tidy. Overall very happy with his work and the final result.

Phil and his team did a fantastic job at renovating our bathroom. They made some great recommendations, were very responsive to any questions I had, and kept our place as well as the common property of unit block very tidy. Very happy with finished result!

We enquired with three other bathroom design and renovation companies before choosing Phillip and Caracalla Design. Phillip's quote for the renovation was better than the other companies and he provided all necessary documentation and certificates required for Strata. Anita, Phillip's designer was especially helpful and easy to communicate with when we chose the items, appliances and colours for the bathroom. All of the contractors used by Caracalla Design were punctual, professional and very personable. When the work was finished, the apartment was completely cleaned and left in excellent condition. We highly recommend Caracalla Design and Renovation for their costings, designs, experience, and completion of work. We are delighted with the new bathroom.

We renovated three bathrooms of our c1905 Federation Home, with Phil & his Team. Phil is great to deal with - he's a "Yes Man" were anything is possible, which is refreshing! He has great ideas, and can problem solve, which is important when you're working will an old home. Phil's team are all skilled, honest, clean & delightful. We cannot say enough to highly recommend Phillip Occhiuto of Caracalla Design. Phillip has far exceeded our expectations and has gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs. His integrity is above reproach. Phillip was engaged to completely renovate our penthouse condominium in Potts Point. It involved the entire demolition and redesign of the kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry, three bedrooms, spacious living and dining room and multiple large and small balconies. He also managed the installation of ten new windows, heat and air conditioning. The renovation required the removal of three walls and the addition of one. This was a very large undertaking and has required months of design, approvals, demolition and build. Phillip always came to us with viable solutions when unexpected problems arose. He is very flexible when we changed our minds on prior agreed upon designs and helped us work toward a better solution. His quality of work is outstanding, and he won’t say something is done until it is perfect. The contractors he has used are also of very high caliber. We have been extremely pleased as to how he has been able to manage to the original budget and stay on schedule despite the restrictions and complexities that Covid created. His design skills are exceptional, and his recommended layouts have been far better than we could have imagined (bathrooms, laundry, kitchen and bedrooms). We would not hesitate to work with Phillip in any capacity again. This has been a very positive experience for us.
