On The Ball Bathrooms

Had my my ensuite renovated by the team after a previous company had messed us around. Shout to James who took care of us from the start and Sean and Jack who supervised everything. Thanks for all the hard work fellas love the ensuite.

“On The Ball” is anything but. Very disappointed with their work on our 2 bathrooms. To start, no one comes to your property during the planning phase. I repeatedly asked for an on-site visit to help with design decisions, but instead you’re sent off to choose everything without guidance, then expected to sign off on final run sheets. A designer only appears at the very end, after everything has already been selected and ordered which makes you question the value of that step entirely. The workmanship was consistently poor: The first plumber failed to remove all faulty pipework in our ensuite wall — the entire reason for the renovation. He replaced just one connection and claimed “that’s how he always does it for OTB.” This resulted in them having to smash through a newly waterproofed wall to fix it properly. The second plumber incorrectly installed the brand-new toilet. Within a week, it smelled like a urinal due to a waste leak. When he returned to fix it, he chipped a tile and attempted to glue it back without telling me. The fit-off installer drilled through an electrical cable while mounting a mirror, cutting power to the house. An electrician then had to smash through the opposite side of the wall to chase a new cable. The biggest issue - The walk-in shower floor was laid completely FLAT. Water pooled instead of draining. When I raised this, they initially dismissed it as “surface tension” until I sent a photo with a water level showing zero fall. Only then did they acknowledge the fault. The shower had to be ripped up and redone, compromising the waterproofing. Now there’s an ongoing concern about long-term integrity. To make matters worse, the drain was reinstalled crooked, and they blamed the wall, despite it being straight before. Project management was virtually non-existent. Supervisors appeared once, if at all, and missed major defects like the flat shower floor. I was told they are “too busy to be everywhere,” which raises serious concerns about how many projects they are taking on at once. Greed over quality. The finish quality throughout reflects a lack of care, uneven grout, sealant applied like dented bluetack, and multiple reworks. What was meant to be a 5-week renovation per bathroom dragged from November to April due to repeated mistakes. They also advertise pressure testing and waterproofing documentation, yet despite multiple requests, I have received no evidence of either. Steer clear.

I can not speak highly enough of Simon and his team. From our first meeting Simon was clearly trying to find a way to make our design ideas work. Even my crazier requests were met with genuine interest and a 'can do' attitude. During the project the attention to detail of the team was beyond our wildest expectations. He has clearly assembled a team of perfectionists. His team were wonderfully amiable, always went the extra mile and were an absolute pleasure to have in my home. Everyone who has seen my new bathroom just says "Wow!" - we couldn't be happier. Thank you Ontheball!

Excellent Project Management and craftmanship in my new bathroom. Working FIFO I thought I would never have the time, but they managed it so well with me being away. Professional work and communication at all times and would highly recommend this business to anyone as staff were extremely trustworthy.

Really impressed by Simon, James, Jack and especially Bruce for the fantastic job the team did on my ensuite reno. Mrs really loved it and the workmanship was top notch. Cheers again boys

Simon and the team at On The Ball have done an amazing job transforming our old laundry and bathroom from impractical eyesores to the absolute stand out features of the house. All of the guys were professional, friendly and, above all else, incredible at their trades. I can't recommend their services enough.

My wife and I have been highly impressed with everything - from start to finish from the team at On the Ball. First class workmanship from a friendly & respectful group of professionals. We've now done two bathrooms with On The Ball and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

We hired ontheball to renovate our ensuite, main bathroom and laundry. We love the end result and highly recommend their services. From the moment we contacted James to the finish line, communication was easy, minor issues and changes we asked for were attended to promptly, all tradies were professional and easy to deal with and Simon, the owner, was really on the ball (no pun intended). We would hire them again in a heartbeat!

This review is not based on any completed work, but our experience with the quoting process. We met with James, for a smaller job which was just tiling the bedroom and two bathrooms and showers. They typically handle larger projects as they do full renovations, but were willing to quote us on the job. We still wanted to receive a quote because we appreciated their reputation of the community and reviews. After talking with James about our project, we found out that they are booking out 3 to 4 months, which we understood. Unfortunately, we are on a tighter timeline, so James was kind enough to give us some contacts in the community that may be able to help us with this timeline. He was extremely professional, had great insight on our project in regards to what issues we were going to have in the project. I would recommend this company to anyone, and hope that they will do a good job for you. I cannot attest to their workmanship, but based on the information we received about the training their employees get, I don’t think we would be dissatisfied… And in addition I did a lot of research looking at their past projects and was very happy with what I saw. Not sure why I wrote the review but just wanted to award a decent person which we haven’t had a lot of!

My husband and I were very impressed initially showroom. lots of displays and color options, I am a visual person so being able to see everything all in one place was very helpful for me and if James didn't have it there he had what seemed like thousands of other bathrooms they had done that matched my layout. The team during our family bathroom reno were very attentive and helped us with all our questions. People will think he was paid to care but James really went above and beyond for us with any late change we wanted he didn't stress us out once we had heard about friends who had renovated from other places and it sounded like a nightmare so we were honestly really happy. Currently planning our second bathroom renovation as we speak :)

These guys are a pro outfit! a pleasure to work with them! Handled the entire project with ease and we look forward to working with them on the next one.

Jack I have to say did an absolutely fantastic tiling job on my Bathrooms. James and Shane did a great job planning it but I just wanted to say the tiling jack did was fantastic! He arrived too early every morning which drove me and wife a little crazy as we like to sleep in but he went above and beyond we love the overall bathroom but are really impressed with the bathroom would highly recommend
