“We had initial discussions with a number of architects before we met Jane from alsoCAN and were becoming rather downcast about our planned renovation to our house. None of the earlier architects seemed to listen to what we wanted and charged ahead with their own concepts. Jane was different she listened to our ideas and also our desire that any design should assist us to keep with in our prescribed budget so as to avoid over capitalisation. Our property had 100 years of modification and attachments to it one build upon another and by the time of our renovation it was a complicated multi-time period property. Jane was able to take the vision we had for the property and enhance that vision with her experience and creativity. Jane did this through listening meaningfully to her clients, employing her own professional skills and a good dose of practical judgment and tact in guiding her sometimes stubborn clients. After many revision we sorted through a complicated structure developing a design that maintained the older part of the house and included a completely new modern back section of the property that was done in a aesthetically appealing and complementary manner. With our Jane's professional assistance we would never have achiever the result that was finally constructed and certainly not within budget. No one that comes to our house for the first time fails to comment on what a beautiful home it is and is in large part because of Jane. We would have no hesitation recommending Jan and if were to need advice and draws made up for another project Jane would be the first person we would call. Christopher Cody and Desmond Liew”

“Wafaa designed renovations to my property in Greenacre, a suburb of Sydney. She then drew accurate plans with detailed specifications which were then submitted to Canterbury Bankstown council. Her design process was very thorough and took into account characteristics of the existing home, aspects of the site including orientation, location of neighboring homes and trees and importantly, my thoughts and preferences for the project. She has an excellent knowledge of modern and traditional building products and their properties including their compliance with the latest building regulations. Her price was very competitive and I would give her the highest possible recommendation.”

“We engaged Building design Studio to assist with design, drawing up plans and the approval process of our house. The assistance we received was most helpful with the end product displaying a sharp and modern design which along with a very practical structural design resulted in what we believe Is a house which is very liveable and comfortable in its surroundings.”

“Geoffrey's designs truly speak for themselves. They are sleek, modern and beautifully crafted. As part of our Australian Contemporary Emerging (ACE) Design Awards this year Geoffrey was awarded the Student Craftsmanship Award for his LV Conus Lamp chosen by independent judges from a range of design backgrounds. Each and every one was thoroughly impressed with his work and attention to detail as much as we at the AFA are. HIs pieces were then taken to Shanghai to be exhibited at the China International Furniture Fair in the AFA stand and were truly a stand out for visitors and other exhibitors alike. Not only is Geoffrey extremely talented but also an absolute pleasure to work with. We highly recommend his product and look forward to seeing what his future designs bring to the industry.”

Mode Electrical

“I presented Martin with a significant challenge; to design and install a power system for a new house which was to be totally off-grid (for all power, waste, and water) and genuinely emission free (either directly or indirectly), yet had all the appliances, convenience, and comfort expected of a modern home. As such, it would need to be all-electric, with no generator backup, and no use of gas, oil, coal, or wood for domestic hot water, heating, or cooking. And to make the task even more challenging, the system would have to be robust enough to withstand use by occupants using it for short term holiday rentals, who may have no interest in or understanding of how the electricity was supplied. In essence it had to be bullet proof, and functionally indistinguishable from a normal grid-connected dwelling. Plus, the system had to be maintenance free for at least ten years. Most renewable energy experts told me this was virtually impossible, especially through a cold, wet Tasmanian winter, and hadn’t been done before in this sort of climate. However, with the assistance of a house designed to exceed German Passivhaus energy-efficiency standards, Martin met the challenge, designing and installing a system which so far has exceeded expectations. Curtains and Blinds Launceston

“What sets Curtains and Blinds apart from other businesses are their exemplary standards of customer service, professionalism, and responsiveness. We have recently completed the build of our new home in Low Head and even though it was almost an hour's drive from Launceston, after an initial meeting in the store, Daniel happily made the trip to measure our home for blinds and curtains. Not only did he ensure all the measurements of our 40+ windows and doors were accurate, he patiently waited while we debated colours for over an hour, and while providing his guidance on our selection, was never intrusive. We then anxiously awaited the installation of our blinds, not sure whether our colour and style would meet our exacting requirements. However, after arriving promptly at their appointed time today, Daniel and James arrived and installed our blinds - and they were absolutely perfect. Not only meeting, but far exceeding our expectations in all respects. Daniel and James did a professional job of the extensive installation, and did so with a minimum of fuss, with good humour, in a very timely manner, and then cleaned up after themselves perfectly. I could not recommend this business more highly - if you are after cost effective and beautiful blinds that complement your home perfectly, you could not do better than Daniel and his team at Curtains and Blinds Launceston.”

“We used a combination of three Blackwood Reggies and five Blackwood Cottons in our kitchen, lounge and dining rooms. They look stunning! The lights make a wonderful design statement during the day and throw fabulous light and shadows at night. Great to deal with.”
