Jeff invited us to tender on one of his projects which we were successful attaining the work. We enjoyed working with Jeff on his client's home and the details he came up with resulted in a great build. We would not hesitate in recommending Jeff and look forward to working with him again.

Jeff Karskens was recommended to us by a friend of a friend (who is a builder) who used Jeff’s services for the design of their display house. We have to admit, we were nervous about engaging Jeff as we had two previous unsuccessful attempts elsewhere at a design that fitted our requirements, budget and lifestyle. However, we needn’t have worried. At our initial meeting, we found Jeff to be very down to earth, collaborative and he listened to our brief. Even at this initial meeting, the ideas and suggestions he presented seemed very aligned with what we wanted. After deciding to engage Jeff, we were very excited to see what the first concept would look like. And wow! We were so impressed! The design Jeff presented was spacious, functional, met all our needs and made the best use of the small block. We loved it immediately. There was a hiccup where the design needed to revised due to some control restrictions – and again, Jeff was very upfront, collaborative and worked fast to retain as much of the original design as possible. Instead of feeling like we compromised, we love the revised design just as much as the original. We are now at the stage where it is being reviewed by the consultants (engineers, BASIX) before the final CDC approval. Jeff is a designer who has the client’s interests and needs at the forefront. He is very collaborative and listens to your feedback and questions without being defensive or judgemental, but will offer his expert opinions for consideration. Throughout this process, Jeff was very engaged and kept us informed and up to date at all times. We are very excited about continuing to the build stage with Jeff’s assistance and highly recommend him for any design needs.

Jeff Karskens designed a house for my wife and myself which was completed in 2013, located in Gerringong NSW. We requested a 3 bedroom home with a loft area for our professional use. Jeff incorporated a clever breezeway concept which separated the guest area and house entry from our own space. Jeff Karskens is an experienced designer with ample practical skills to manage and integrate current building regulations, construction practices and council requirements. Jeff delivered a functional, creative home design which came in on budget. The outcome for us, has been exceptional.

When we decided to build our first house, we received multiple recommendations to use JKD, as they are a boutique, client focused firm that take each project personally. As I work in the development and construction industry, very few consultants refuse work to focus on their niche, but that is exactly what makes JKD unique. They don't do everything, but the design and detail pertaining to their niche, such as homes, renovations and extensions, are exactly the reason why we chose to work with JKD. With an excellent DA presentation, through to construction detailing and interior design, JKD made all the hard decisions easy, with the in-depth industry experience that is so obviously utilised in the firm.
