JMH Living Design

I have engaged John Hatch from JMH Living to design extensions and renovations to our family home. The renovation is to add living spaces below the existing ground floor, replace and widen an existing balcony and improve outdoor entertaining areas so that the house can suit our needs into the future. So far throughout the project John has proven to be very knowledgeable, provided great advice on various options for the design, and is always friendly and professional when we meet or have telephone conversations. So far we have refined the designs to what we hope to achieve and are about to move into next phase of the project to see what can be realistically achieved with our budget.

I have provided consulting services to JMH Living Design in the way of traffic and parking assessments needed to accompany development applications to Council. The projects involved have ranged from minor residential to major commercial developments and have included various child care and medical centres. My assessment has been made significantly easier due to the quality of the architectural plans (parking layout in particular) which are always accurate and in accordance with the Australian Standard. In the event that an alteration is required JMH have shown creativity and a willingness to achieve an appropriate solution. We were referred to john hatch from JMH Design from a colleague. We've found John to be extremely pleasant to work with and very flexible with his approach. We must have changed our minds a dozen times during the preliminary staged and John was always polite and professional, though I am sure we must have driven him mad. John has a great eye for concepts and is able to articulate his vision in a way that was easy to understand. He exerts a good mix of common sense and creativity which is also welcome. We are currently working with John, Jake and the team at JMH Living Design who have designed an extension for our challenging block with flame zone restrictions and limited budget. We've been extremely happy through the whole process and found them to be very easy to talk to and understanding of our wants and needs. John really strived to come up with the right option for us and we were given many, many different designs, provided lots of advice on the pros and cons of each, resulting in a design we love but could never have imagined ourselves. They've also handled the entire council approval process which has made the experience so easy.
