Tristan was an immense help at the beginning of our new house journey, and a reassuring presence throughout the build. He was absolutely the reason we went with the builder we did, and we never regretted it once for a second in the two-year process. Our project also involved the demolishing of our old house and the subdivision of our old block, and he guided us throughout this process with a steady hand. Our house would not have happened without NHBB. Original builder designed and then quoted 300k over our budget. Tristan helped us find a builder who could do it for the right price, held our hand through all the trials and tribulations that come with building, and now we've been in our dream home for 1 and a half years.

If you are going to use a building broker, I can highly recommend Tristan & New Home Building Brokers. He is very knowledgeable and highly experienced in the Perth residential building sector. Why use a building broker? I hate paying middlemen, I even sold my last house myself, avoiding real estate agents fees. However, all the regular Perth home builders have significant costs putting their display homes on show, never mind salaries and commissions paid to the sales staff. Using a broker, his commission is most likely less than a builders display home costs, and you end up with a third party that can help when tricky questions arise. Tristan has several clients with our builder, and it is in the builder’s interest to keep us happy so that Tristan offers him jobs to quote on in the future. No such luck for your building company sales agent. Using a building broker works from around $300k onwards for custom homes (our quote before extras was right there). We wanted a house with the master bedroom in the middle – and that eliminates some 90% of display homes. So we spend about $3,500 on a designer to draw our house, and most importantly, the copyright belongs to us and you are not at the mercy of a Perth builder that designed it for you. The only disadvantage I can think of is that there is no display home that you can walk through before signing a building contract.
