Our Expertise: For over 20 years SOBD, based on the Gold Coast, has provided Queensland and NSW with home design and documentation services. Our expertise is in developing detailed documentation covering construction detailing, mechanical, hydraulics, structural, electrical, fixtures and fittings, and shop fitting. As a measure of the quality of our detailing we consistently receive praise from consultants and builders, resulting in repeat and referred business. Your Quality Assurance: SOBD are chartered members of the Building Designers’ Association of Queensland Inc (BDAQ). As a chartered member, we are committed to continual professional development and working within the BDAQ Code of Ethics. Stuart Osman, founder of SOBD, is President of Gold Coast BDAQ and Vice President of Regional Qld BDAQ. SOBD are licensed by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission , Licence No. 1129687, and are covered by full professional indemnity insurance.

A domestic house major renovation was planned with SOBD. Stuart and the team did an initial site inspection and full measure of existing property to accurately draft the existing building. From there we went through the process of planning and designing the new extensions and changes. The Walk through design provided by SOBD design gave us details and understanding of the project that the 2 dimensional plan just couldn’t provide. We also really enjoyed the process of communication offered and were very happy with the costs associated with the quality of work and services provided. Highly recommended.

SOBD has now designed and drawn two projects for us. Our personal residence (built in Aug 2016) and a 4 x duplex project (completion in Oct 17). Both designs were an improvement on our inital brief and achieved a great outcome. The team is helpful, knowledgeable and professional.
