Jay provides an excellent design service. From concept to final design we were impressed with Jay's ability to understand what we were trying to achieve with our new home. Jay was able to take our all ideas and amalgamate them into a design that suited our needs, style, and budget. We feel very fortunate to have found Jay Ukalovic for our project. From the first meeting, we felt comfortable and assured. Jay listened to our needs and had great ideas. He was always prompt and helpful in his communications. Not only did Jay create a beautiful design for our home, he also kindly and patiently guided us through the process. Utilising his network of associates (surveyors, consultants, engineers, certifiers, builders, etc) made everything much less stressful for us, and he was always there to help follow up on things or explain the next steps. Ukalovic Design was a pleasure to work with from first engagement through to construction certificate. We were hoping to work with a team that listened to our hopes and desires, and translated that brief into a modern design that met our budget, site constraints and took full advantage of the solar aspect and views - Ukalovic Design delivered on all fronts, as well as providing creative input and ideas way beyond expectations. We would happily use this team on our next project - which is the highest recommendation one could make.

I Searched for months for a Home designer who I could collaborate with. Someone that give’s clear, precise plans (especially in 3D) allowing you to walk around your home and visualize it so much easier. Someone who is passionate about what he does and pleasure to throw ideas around with. Someone who treats the design and the process like he’s building it for his own family. Someone who adds the extra touches that make a good design...great. Whether it be the simplicity of changing the pitch of the roof, or double posts instead of one to add that extra quality feel to the facade. Or finding a way of connecting two balconies together for better flow, always keeping in mind the practical costs of engineering. The house I built was no easy feat. The project was huge. 360sqm 3 level home, 6 bed, 3 living, 4 bath. pool, huge retaining walls and engineering, separate garage and landscaping design. Yep. Jay drew it up, we talked, we tweaked. And then we built it. And every aspect worked. Brilliantly. I’m not just saying that. I’m never leaving this house, ever. And also I must say. Don’t read this review and think “oh he must be expensive” He’s not. He’s just humble and fair and good at what he does. As you may have realised. I’m a big fan. You can even call me on it. We would highly recommend Ukalovic Design. Jay's approach is absolutely professional but at the same time he is so friendly and supportive. We had a difficult design process due to the requirements around our existing house but he persevered, going through a number of different design ideas that ultimately gave us an excellent design outcome. Jay works so well with everyone and many of the other professionals involved on the project have commented on what a great job he has done coming up with a design that meets council requirements while still delivering a beautiful home. The other consultants he has referred us to have also been excellent. We will always be thankful that we chose Jay and Ukalovic Design to help us with our renovation. If we were ever to go down this crazy path of renovating again we would use Jay in a heartbeat!

Jay from Ukalovic designs is a very talented man who is able to think outside the box and come up with amazingly creative yet practical ideas. Looking back, the outstanding feature of the service provided by Ukolavic Design was their dedication to not only designing the home that we desired, but to shepherding the project through the various initial stages in order to ensure council approval and this issuance of the construction certificate. Their services far exceeded the architectural drafting services I expected. And for their support, knowledge of the byzantine council processes, and their tenacity to see it through to the stage where we were able to start building I will be forever grateful. And the house design is awesome!

I would highly recommend Jay from Ukalovic Design. Renovating can be a highly stressful task. From our initial meeting to the completion of our renovation Jay made the process much easier compared to previous renovations we have done. Jay contributed some great ideas in the planning stage but was always very conscious of what we wanted to achieve. Our builder complimented his plans and said they were very easy to work with. Jay was always available to discuss any issues we had. Jays fees were very reasonable and very transparent. We are extremely happy with our renovation.

Jay's patience and willingness to explore many ideas that we put to him helped us to finally put together a design that we had not even thought would work, and interestingly although it is far from what we started with, it absolutely feels right for our family. We would recommend Jay to anybody looking to explore different concepts for building.

Jay provided some great (superior) drawings to meet building and council standards when our original design and build company let us down. He also helped coordinate other services to support us to get urgent approval from Council. We received approval yestetday! We highly recommend Jay for his expertise, service and support.
