“Leading up to Christmas period last year I visited many flooring retailers in the inner Eastern suburbs and came across The Flooring Centre. I ended up using their Hawthorn store, but I did visit the Nunawading store too (to borrow some samples). Can I just say, having been to several of these types of stores, that this crowd stood out heads and shoulders above the other ones I went to. Not only are their prices much better, but the main thing was their knowledge compared to the branded franchised stores. It was like black and white which was rather startling actually. I am a Civil Engineer by trade, so I like to research what I am buying (maybe a bit more than the average person) and spent a lot of time teaching myself about various flooring options and some of the information I was given by these franchised stores was nothing short of misleading. I think they just aren't trained well enough perhaps? The Flooring Centre staff I dealt with (3 different people) all knew what they were talking about and even taught me a few things I wasn't aware of. Anyway, suffice to say I had the confidence to use them for my project which was timber flooring in the living areas of a house I am renovating and a small amount of wool carpet for some of the bedrooms. Was just installed late last week. I don't normally do reviews, but the guys at Hawthorn mentioned they would appreciate a review so I said yes and given the outcome of the final installation and the process, it's the least I can do. So my recommendation, for what is worth, is put these guys on your list of places to visit and by all means go into the other franchised stores and then you will see what I am talking about. Be your own judge but I think you'll be surprised at the difference.”

See my Houzz profile - Style by Gillian - using the newest product Korlok - " Elanora Heights - Renovate for a Wedding " - " floor and kitchen Magic at Glenhaven " and soon " Home transformation at Hills " . - Prior to this I have used the Looselay in a sound studio - " Converting a Garage into a sound studio at St Ives " " Graham Family area at Pennant Hills ". An earlier project ' Rebuild of a 1970's apartment at Narrabeen ' I used the product Opus Magna which I ran up the wall as a feature. So it is safe to say - I am a fan - they are constantly introducing new technologies and I have a great rapport with my commercial manager Mark Wallis - wonderful products that finish the BUILD for me. The colour we chose was Midnight Oak as we loved the elegant look that it had and would complement our white crisp walls and black finishes throughout our home. “I requested a quote for new flooring for a new flat I recently bought from Shane. Initial consultation was professional, helpful and honest. He went out of his way to ensure was available to view the flat at a time that suited, bringing requested samples, and not only advising on flooring but other potential issues. He mentioned that the only issue could be that the floor needed levelling - but even if it did it would be done within my 3 day deadline. This transpired to be the case... And this is was completed in time with Joe staying until 7pm to do so. I am absolutely thrilled with the result, the floors look fantastic, at all stages I had the sense I was in really good hands. As a single female, I am somewhat sceptical of being 'taken for a ride' but at no point did I feel this with Shane and his team. A massive thank you for what is a totally brilliant job.”
