“After seven months our renovation is complete. What we envisaged to be a terrifying, difficult time was surprisingly smooth sailing ..our biggest worry was our budget and renovating within the footprint of our 1890s Newtown terrace house,which always presents unexpected challenges. From a Home Show visit ,which introduced us to the Site Manager and associated House 2 Home team was indeed a best day.We felt relieved to have an experienced team to guide us through all the phases of our build which can be very daunting. From initial meetings with House 2 Home Jouman Moore ( who drove our Project from start to completion ,thank you)..assessing our requirements , to drafting architectural plans , DALodgement ,and securing and ensuring all compliance issues are covered, Scope of Works, Tender process to obtain a builder at a fixed price within our budget,and the day to day management of our project. To ensure a cohesive project we also appointed Joumans House to Home interior design team to design and finish internal finishes of our build.Thank you Nerys and Maddison for your patience and knowledge.Having people allocated to our job who are experienced in presentation and latest products and able to purchase these at best price was a huge relief and reduced the stress and saved us many hours by not having to source items for our build. With Joumana liaising with our builder Booma Constructions our project progressed swiftly and with no issues.Design and finishes by her team were of a high quality .Our builder was reliable,professional and well organised.Work performed by all trades was excellent. We are now enjoying our amazing transformed Terrace House which now utilises the space much more efficiently .Living spaces on the ground floor flow together.A new relocated kitchen well laid out,plenty of light via a skylight with high vaulted ceilings.Lounge area at rear of building overlooking garden has heaps of light via glass folding doors.By the removal of part of the wall with our new renovation to the front rooms of the house has resulted in these two spaces flowing together.Main bathroom making better use of the space with a huge skylight and the ensuite off the second bedroom being being extended over the new powder room on the ground floor has resulted in a very high end bathroom with loads of light from skylight. Would we do it again in the same manner.Yes! Our renovation delivered on time. Delivered within our budget.Delivered a new life style change which is impressive, Delivered extra value to our home ...we are sincerely appreciative of all your efforts and especially to Joumana who took on this challenging job and drove it to its amazing completion. “A friend suggested we obtain a quote from Neil Turrell after we had plans approved by council for an extensive renovation which included putting a master bedroom upstairs. We had already narrowed our choice of builders down to two, but my husband and I thought that it wouldn’t hurt to get one more quote from Turrell’s especially because our friend who we trusted was so insistent that we speak to Neil. From our first interaction with Leisa Turrell we were provided with exceptional service. Neil was responsive and attended our place within a week. He took away the plans we already had drawn up and promised to provide a quote as soon as possible. A few days later he called, explained that he was discussing our plans with his in-house designer Alec and confessed that they didn’t believe our existing plan was ‘good bang for our buck’. He asked us to consider a different option and suggested that Alec come and visit our property so he could get a first hand feel for the block. When Alec visited I walked him through the very original house and explained all the things that were frustrating us and that we hoped to rectify in the renovation. I was still a little unsure what Turrell’s was proposing but trusted Neil when he suggested we explore all options before committing to such an extensive project. Within a few weeks Alec had drawn up the most fantastic plan, which we instantly loved. What’s more, he had listened to what I’d asked for and addressed everything in my rather extensive list. We were kicking ourselves that we hadn’t heard about Turrell's earlier and wasted time and money with other designers (one of which never even attended our house to speak to us!). We are so grateful that Neil had the courage to give us his honest opinion. The plans that Turrell's designed are far superior in terms of functionality, street appeal and overall layout. From that point we knew we were in the right hands and had made the right decision to proceed with Turrell’s. We were assigned an absolutely A-grade team of builders - Stevie and Mason capably and cheerily led by Laeton - who set about miraculously turning Alec’s awesome drawings into reality. Our renovation was extensive: replacing every window and door in the house; a new roof; an extension including a master suite; new garage; laundry; three bathrooms, a deck and a magnificent kitchen. Furthermore Turrell's accommodated us living through the reno which was not easy for the team at times. Laeton completely understood me and my style and worked compatibly with us to achieve our end result suggesting little things here and there that put the icing on the cake. We trusted him implicitly - which cannot be overstated when you are working in such close proximity. Whenever we struck a stumbling block (and let’s be real there are always stumbling blocks in reno’s) the team were quick to troubleshoot or come up with a workable solution. Neil was very attentive and available and kept a watchful eye over our project right through to completion and followed through on a number of minor things. We honestly could not be happier with the home Turrell’s have created for us. We pinch ourselves everyday that we have such a lovely home now. We miss the buzz of the team on site - they felt like family after our seven month intense relationship! I think even the neighbours miss them! We have people stopping on a regular basis to tell us how great our place looks which is a great compliment to Turrell’s. All of our dealings with Turrell’s - from the office staff through to Leisa and Neil have been professional and respectful which helped reduce the stress of such a huge project. We would not hesitate in recommending Turrell’s Building to anyone seeking a quality renovation and would be happy to provide a verbal reference if required.”
