“We contracted with Chimneys R Us to replace an existing vent-free gas fireplace with a high efficiency wood burning unit. We could not be more pleased. They were extremely helpful with suggestions, and very flexible and accommodating as we finalized our choices in stone, mantle, etc. Everyone we dealt with was professional and courteous, and the work was done on time and to very high quality. We would definitely recommend.”

“I spoke to Chris and Jon at Modern gas about a fireplace for my bedroom, Last year. My room Was freezing no matter what, so I figured I would see if I could get something for my small space. The guys from modern gas came to my home and helped me figure out the best type and style for my home. I am very particular about my decor and didn't want anything too big. I found the perfect size/type for the room and love how warm and cozy my bedroom has now become. The guys were friendly, professional and careful with my house. There were a lot of different styles I was tempted to choose but finally decided on a unit that will be encased in cabinetry. A project my husband insists he can do. The guys at modern said they could help with cabinets, ect, but hubby wants to try. Anyway, I was able to get what I wanted for a great price, which made hubby happy, the owners were super knowledgeable and easy to work with. “All of my experience with Salters has been exceptionally good. In Nov., 2012 I ordered a propane gas fireplace insert for my home. First person who came to my home to confirm the measurements, recommended a custom frame (at a very modest increase in cost) so that less of the marble on my fireplace would be hidden. Second, the store rearranged their installation schedule so that my insert was installed the day before my early December holiday party. The insert looked great!! Lastly, when a manufacturing defect was discovered with the model which I had purchased, the Salter service team tried to arrive in a timely manner to get my insert working again, worked with the manufacturer to diagnose and fix the problem, and went out of their way to keep me appraised of the progress. I would definitely recommend Salters to everyone.”

The owners Bill and Cindy will leave you feeling as warm and cozy as the fireplace the put in your home. Frank in the showroom has a wealth of knowledge and is very passionate about his work. “The showroom is set up to show you what can go wrong with certain types of fireplace design. Very educational. We ordered our fireplace around the holidays so there was a delay, but the company was clear and honest about what to expect. (Tip: don't wait until November!) Overall I think prices were good compared to other places that we went to. Our unit was pretty basic, but these guys do a lot of high end projects too. The installation went well and was professional. My only concern which could make this a 4.5 star is that there was a gap on the right side of the unit where the unit met the floor (which is normal with the way houses settle), but they told us that we could fix that by adding caulking, and I felt that that should have been part of the installation process for a "completed" look. Perhaps they did not offer because the unit is unfinished oak, and we planned on staining the wood? Either way, very happy with overall purchase. The fireplace is the my favorite purchase of 2016.”
