He will probably take this review down, thats pretty telling. Chris Gread has done an appalling job landscaping our front garden with granitic sand. He did not use a crushed rock base as we have since found he definitely should have, consequently we have weeds coming up all over the surface which is a hell of a lot more work than previously mowing the lawn. We do not want to use poisons as Chris suggested, and had the job been done properly, we shouldn't have to. We know that we would get the odd weed but nothing like this.Chris said the weeds were from birds or the wind, but because of the lack of crushed rock and insufficient depth we can easily see that the weeds are coming up from the soil below. Granitic sand is porous, hence the need for crushed rock.I have contacted many reputable landscapers and landscape suppliers namely a large company Soilworx, all have said that crushed rock should definately be used. Chris did not use an excavator but had his two contractors dig out the old lawn and weeds with shovels but not deep enough. In parts, the surface of the granitic sand is only 1cm deep and other sections 4cm deep. It is recommended that the crushed rock be 4-5cm deep and the granitic sand 5-6cm deep. There also seems to be a lack of clay content which hardens the surface and the surface has a huge stone content. The garden is on a slight slope and now there are furrows where the sand and stone has washed away and the surface is very uneven. He charged us $3,500 and also quoted friends $3,500 WITH a crushed rock base. I emailed him giving him the chance to fix the job, but he did not respond.

From start to finish the job of Chris Gread and his team at Kyneton Landscaping was a great experience. Chris suggested design elements to the new lawn. His workers were on time, tidy and courteous. The job came in on time and on budget. A great success all round. Highly recommended.

We have a FatBelly Firepit which was supplied and installed by Chris, Kyneton Landscaping. He did a very professional job setting it up. We are so happy with it. Not only does it look great and provides a great fire but the cooking facilities that can be attached are awesome. I love that the firepit does not heat up hot on the outside walls so is a great safety feature. Highly recommend these firepits. Had a great cook up on the first night!

We started using Chris and his team at Kyneton Landscaping in 2015 and they have done more work for us at least once each year since. We've found them to be fantastic. They always stick to their quotes, provide regular feedback and more importantly, provide great ideas on how to improve our garden.

Chris helped us out with a drainage problem that occurred after some previous work we had completed. He was prompt at responding and quoting and he and his team were very friendly. They completed the work quickly and cleaned up afterwards - most importantly, we no longer have a drainage issue. We have since used him again to complete some large tree pruning and other landscaping. Chris has great imagination and collaborates with other local artisans to help bring your idea to life - he is also happy to work to any budget and help plan stages of work to suit.

The Fat Belly Fire Pit is a great addition to our backyard. Not only do we use it for cooking up a huge spit roast the solid plate is awesome for bacon and eggs in the morning. Really smart design with the double wall keeping the heat where you need it and protecting everyone from getting to close. Well done Kyneton Landscaping the Fay bally Fire Pit is awesome. Michael S
