“I have a house in west end which was originally a single level 3 bedroom workers cottage. The house was built in underneath 5 years ago and the upper level (original house) was left un touched and rented in its original state. For added income I decided to rent out the lower levels and moved into the upper one. I was struggling with ideas on how to get the original house (over one hundred years old) to blend in and work with the newer, more modern lower levels. I appointed Dani Louis, to initially get ideas on colour schemes, light fittings, kitchen and bathroom layouts etc. Dani, was extremely helpful and full of great ideas. The house has kept some of its original features ie VJ walls etc, but now blends in nicely, mixing old world with new. Dani has tremendous buying power and sources great deals on fittings, fixtures etc and passes on her savings for all items as part of her service, which was amazing because the savings added up to be a lot more than the fee she charged. I am a very happy customer and would highly recommend Dani Louis Design to anybody wanting to undertake any form of renovation or design consultation. I am happy to be contacted if you would like to discuss any of the above 0404034213 Marcus Newton.”

“Lisa is a very capable styler/stager. She assisted us with getting our home ready for sale. This included helping with the selection on interior and exterior colours for the house; sourcing additional contractors for specific jobs and finally selecting the furniture; paintings etc to present the house. Her manner was professional and her communication with us was excellent and her ability to merge the house with its surroundings presented the house for market. We were amazed and delighted with the outcome.”
Kitchen Shop QLD

“Taking on an ugly duckling kitchen in an open plan modern Queenslander to give it some older character, is no easy vision to implement. When embarking on this project, we sought quotations from six companies to transform our low ceiling square-set modern kitchen into a French country gem that would complement our desire to give our home a more French country-inspired look. When we met with Alan at the Kitchen Shop, we understood from the outset that we were dealing with a professional with great experience in the industry. We also could see that we were communicating with someone who has a natural flair to visualise a client brief at the finest level of detail, and to work collaboratively with the client to refine and improve a design to best meet the aesthetic and functional aspects of a kitchen. In some ways, on paper, the design was pretty simple in that we desired to retain the the practicality of the layout of the existing kitchen and to minimise the cost of relocating services. However, increasing the ceiling height and wishing to include larger period cornices provided particular constraints that would naturally impact the overall design of cabinetry for maximum visual effect and to improve storage options. Alan understood this from the outset and provided informed guidance regularly through many meetings in his showroom, to arrive at an agreeable final design specification, including a full granite benchtop wrapping on three faces. His input to our colour and design choices for the following: two-pack cabinetry (including large glass-doored display cabinet), integrated sensor and down lighting, shelving design, 'hidden' doors, corner mechanisms, knobs and handles, to achieve the required look with the selected granite and appliances, was spot on and reflected his eye for design balance a well as maximised utility. One of the greatest challenges was designing a solution to our desire to have a 'period' arched cooktop canopy, mantle and integrated rangehood, with appropriate finer details in the surrounds that provided sufficient French country style and that would balance with other design elements of the kitchen. That involved him examining pictures from existing websites like Pinterest and other overseas websites that we had discovered, and to then patiently explain and inform a design that was visually balanced but that was also fire safety compliant, functional and which would provide the durability that was part of the longevity that we desired for this kitchen. Major projects like this, involving multiple trades (often working concurrently) requires tight scheduling and effective communication. In the main, this was excellent (and sometimes at short notice) but where issues did naturally arise (as is to be expected with such projects), they were were resolved extremely promptly, with patience and clarity, and with an ability to minimise worry for the client. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of the product and associated project management, fabrication, installation and after-sales services. We have been using the kitchen for over three months now and there has only been one post-implementation visit required, to correct only very minor bedding-in issues (eg door hinge adjustment etc), and one of those related matters to an electrical installation issue, for which the Kitchen Shop were not really responsible but which they remedied without question. We have no hesitation in recommending Alan, Nicky and all the team at Kitchen Shop for your kitchen or other joinery requirements, whether they be a new-build or a major renovation transformation like our own. We would willingly utilise Alan's guidance and expertise to assist us to implement our next vision. Note: Obviously the photos show there is still some finishing to be done to complete the final look.”

“I have hired Paul Popham for two projects. The first, was a major renovation to our 80 year old Federation Style home and, more recently, for the new development of a modern Cape Cod beach house. Paul has been amazing on both projects. He has an incredible flair and an eye for how the final design will come together. While he can provide advice at any stage of a project, we have utilised Paul throughout the developments - from the architectural plans, including design and elevations of all carpentry - kitchens, bathrooms, cabinets and entertainment units, selection of floor and window coverings, tiles, bathroom and kitchen fittings, colours, right through to furniture selection, lights, decorating items and layout and placement. He does it all with such an incredible tasteful, clever and original eye. Paul has the ability to allow it all to come together beautifully, for us, he has blended modern and period elements to create an overall timeless result. There is nothing about his designs that will date - it all becomes a work of art. Above all, Paul is so wonderful to work with. Friendly, engaging, good humored, honest, patient and not at all precious. Finally, it is always with budget. He works on a budget with you and doesn't spend money where it is unnecessary. It all comes together with a look of quality and style regardless of your budget. I have recommended Paul to so many friends and we all have been incrediblly happy - delighted - with his work and advice. Paul is our trusted "go to" on all things design.”

“My husband and I engaged Jenny Ford to assist with the renovation of our family unit at Little Cove, Noosa Heads. It was overdue for an upgrade, and we consulted with a local building firm prior to Jenny coming on board, who were able to tell us what was possible with regards to moving walls and working with existing plumbing services. Jenny helped with the new concept, space planning and joinery design, before embarking on the task of selecting all the hard finishes, paint colours, furniture, window requirements, soft furnishings and lighting. We were delighted with her customer service; she was always eager to please and help us with the process. It had been a while since we had embarked on such a project, and she helped us transform a loved but tired family space into an amazing contemporary apartment that we love inviting friends to.”

“Gabrielle from Berkeley Interiors has wonderful design flare, is a great communicator and was passionate about sourcing the right furnishings for my budget. I love mid century modern furniture and had a good idea of what I wanted, but found it hard to picture if the items would all work together. Gabrielle created style boards with harmonious colour schemes and made the final selection of pieces easy. Her knowledge of products, suppliers, fabrics and finishes is extensive. The end result is exactly what I was after.”

“We originally approached Kirsty for some advice on how to best style a living area when we were converting a pool room to a living space. It was an area where we had been struggling for ideas for a while, but Kirsty had great vision and easily saw how to best furnish and style the room. We then consulted with Kirsty again when we upgraded our ensuite and main bathroom. She advised us on everything from the colour scheme and tile choice, right down to the towels and window furnishings. On all of these projects, Kirsty actively listened to all of our ideas and gave us great advice on how to achieve an outcome that not only suited our home, but also met our budget for each individual area. We have been so happy with the end result of these projects as they blend in beautifully with the rest of the house. When it came time to sell our home, it was an easy choice to contact Kirsty again for her assistance in styling the house ready for the photos and opens. Kirsty was very detailed in her approach and went above and beyond in ensuring that all areas of our home were presented in their best possible light. Although some of the changes and suggestions she made were quite subtle, we really believe that Kirsty’s input made all the difference in us receiving multiple sale offers. Kirsty is extremely easy to work with, she is bursting with creative ideas and her vision to see beyond what’s there to improve the appeal and functionality of every area is astounding. Before we start any work on our new home we will definitely be contacting Kirsty first up to get her valuable ideas and input in creating our new space.”
