“Jane just gets it. She's easy to work with, no drama, and she's a great communicator. Jane listened carefully to my input, then came up with creative ideas based on our conversation that I would never have thought of. It sometimes took me a while to get comfortable with these out-of-the-box ideas – I’ll never forget the look on the painter’s face when he asked me if I was really sure about this colour. But, in the end, she had really got it right. Amazingly, much of the job was done remotely. Jane lives 200 kms away. She came to the house once; and I met her at her place twice for consultations. When it was all done, I was amazed at how well she’d pulled everything together. Jane was relentless in ensuring the optimal solution given any constraints that I may have placed in terms of budget or taste. She was always on the job, and often rang with new materials or ideas when she’d been out and about. And finally, she was always accessible, whether over email/phone/in-person whenever I needed to resolve/clarify any issues. It is very satisfying to walk into my house and feel like the space truly reflects my personality, and not some design catalogue.”

“When we began the building process, we were really nervous to start with but a couple of weeks into the build, we could see that Ian, Elise and the team had everything under control. That’s when we relaxed and started to enjoy the whole process. They delivered a beautiful home that has only got better with time. Skookom have crafted a fantastic house that we love living in. They took time to make sure the fine details and careful finishes were perfect – and we enjoy them every day. I highly recommend Ian and Elise for all your building projects.”

“We had been floundering for months getting nowhere and constantly changing direction and plans for months. Finally decided to seek the advise of an architecture. “We were delighted to work with Rosa (from Biotope Architecture.interiors) on the rebuild and extension of our 1850s sandstone house in central Hobart. This project was a labour of love and, thus, it was paramount to have an architect that was sympathetic to both the heritage aspects of the structure and to the design necessities of modern life. This was achieved through thoughtful and delicate considerations that yielded a result far beyond what we could’ve imagined! We are ecstatic with the final result.”

“Peter was responsive to our ideas and suggestions, skilfully translating them into a set of working plans which captured the essence of what we were looking for in our new home. He wasn't afraid to gently challenge us if he thought there might be a more aesthetically pleasing or cost - effective way of achieving our dream. We found the process to be enjoyable and exciting and we are very happy with the design Peter was able to achieve. Peter had a professional yet friendly manner and we are very happy to recommend him.”

“My family and I engaged Caroline to help us with ideas on a kitchen and living area renovation. Caroline was quickly able to identify what makes our family tick, where the heart and soul of our family is and was able to focus us, to ensuring that the kitchen/living space would maximise that need. Caroline came up with a vision not thought possible, she took precise measurements, carefully scanned and adapted d my "pins", spoke to our builder and developed floor plans that we and our builders were able to work from. Today, we have a kitchen/living area that is the heart and soul of our home and our family life. I love to share it with family and friends but also love and treasure the moments early morning and late night when I am alone at my kitchen island pondering and dreaming.”

“I have worked with Sam on 2 occasions. The first was a renovation and extension to a mud brick house which needed modernising and more internal light. He didn't blink an eye when his brief was, "We want it to have a Mexican /Swiss chalet look". What's more, he achieved this outcome. I recently consulted Sam to create a concept plan for a small sports pavilion/BBQ area which has some tricky heritage issues to consider. His ideas are exciting and innovative and we're instantly approved by the board.”

“Tarema Cottage, Howden Owners: Jill and Emlyn Jones Project timeframes: February 2014 – July 2016 Jill and I engaged Rebecca in early 2014 to provide a full architectural service on our new build in Howden. Due to the location of the block and existing dwelling, there were a number of constraints from the outset. Rebecca worked closely with us to come up with a concept that was sympathetic to our original coastal cottage. The project was finished in October 2016, with Rebecca having professionally managed the build from concept stage to completion. There were two aspects of Rebecca’s service that we considered essential to the success of the build: Creativity and innovation: Our design brief was challenging given the limited space (footprint) for the build, the need to accommodate eldery visitors, and our desire to mix new products and building practices with salvaged materials. The end results has been a light, easy access space that has a superb character that respectfully sits beside our original coastal cottage. Both friends and visitors have commented on the relaxed feel of the building that feels far bigger than it appears from the outside. Project Management: From the start of the concept stage, through to the completion of the build, Rebecca provided sound guidance on the many decisions that needed to be made. Furthermore, she was able to translate our suggestions and ideas into manageable and compliant designs. All the documentation, compliance with changing building regulations and contract administration and coordination of the builders was handled efficiently and with minimal delays. Perhaps the most challenging aspect was liaising between ourselves as owners and the builders for tasks that we wanted close involvement (e.g. joinery). Rebecca was flexible and agile with the need to change plans as the projects evolved. In summary, Jill and I were very happy with Rebbecca Fullerton Architect and the outcome of the building produced.”

“We worked with Dock 4 on a new house design. They were extremely respectful of our ideas, preferences and style, delivering a concept that not only met the brief but exceeded expectation. In terms of design, we felt they knew where to hold back and where to highlight special features or inclusions, creating a home that promises to be both subtle and spectacular. They were happy to consult with our preferred builder throughout the process and were able to clearly explain the process from start to finish, outlining expected costs, timeframes and requirements.”
