Featured Reviews for Sustainable Design Services in Hobart, Tasmania

Skookom
Sustainable Design Services in Hobart, Tasmania
25October,2017
“At the end of last year we engaged Skookom to transform a very tired, small space into a highly functional & efficient, contemporary Espresso Bar. We had been impressed with their body of work and after our initial consultation with Elise & Ian, their calm and thorough approach filled us with confidence that our ideas could be realised. They managed to complete our project on time and worked closely with us and our designers to do bring it all within budget. Their attention to detail was second to none, overseeing all tradespeople and ensuring that everything was meticulous as if it were their own home. We have done numerous renovations both private and commercial over the years with a number of different companies here and interstate - Skookom are definitely top of their game. Thank you”
Liddington Architecture Studio
Sustainable Design Services in Hobart, Tasmania
26December,2018
“Peter, from Liddington Architecture Studio took our loose brief for two units and created a thoughtful design, sensitive to site and location with excellent attention to detail in the finished drawings. He was great help and support though a protracted planning process and he supervised the build process effectively, ensuring accountability to deadlines and design. He has a collaborative nature and confident approach to his work that made him a pleasure to deal with.”
Bury Kirkland Ferri
Sustainable Design Services in Hobart, Tasmania
29July,2014
“We engaged Bury and Kirkland to design a new kitchen in our Federation house that has undergone numerous renovations. The original kitchen space was the old "U" shape with a corner pantry (yep, had to go). Bury and Kirkland created a totally open and functional kitchen in a difficult space and totally transformed the way our whole family felt about cooking, eating and being in our living space. I finally was able to be in my kitchen looking out on our beautiful view of the Derwent River rather than feeling tucked away in the corner facing a wall. Bury and Kirkland also created a brilliant slider pantry that has great space and operates as part of the kitchen when open but neatly slides away when not in use. The creative use of timber and fresh white ensured a perfect connection between the old and the new of the house. Bury and Kirkland worked efficiently with all of the trades and kept the job perfectly on time and had as little effect on our family as possible. I would highly recommend them in kitchen design and the overall concept and feel of any room.”

“We were delighted to work with Rosa (from Biotope Architecture.interiors) on the rebuild and extension of our 1850s sandstone house in central Hobart. This project was a labour of love and, thus, it was paramount to have an architect that was sympathetic to both the heritage aspects of the structure and to the design necessities of modern life. This was achieved through thoughtful and delicate considerations that yielded a result far beyond what we could’ve imagined! We are ecstatic with the final result.”

rebecca fullerton ARCHITECT

“Tarema Cottage, Howden Owners: Jill and Emlyn Jones Project timeframes: February 2014 – July 2016 Jill and I engaged Rebecca in early 2014 to provide a full architectural service on our new build in Howden. Due to the location of the block and existing dwelling, there were a number of constraints from the outset. Rebecca worked closely with us to come up with a concept that was sympathetic to our original coastal cottage. The project was finished in October 2016, with Rebecca having professionally managed the build from concept stage to completion. There were two aspects of Rebecca’s service that we considered essential to the success of the build: Creativity and innovation: Our design brief was challenging given the limited space (footprint) for the build, the need to accommodate eldery visitors, and our desire to mix new products and building practices with salvaged materials. The end results has been a light, easy access space that has a superb character that respectfully sits beside our original coastal cottage. Both friends and visitors have commented on the relaxed feel of the building that feels far bigger than it appears from the outside. Project Management: From the start of the concept stage, through to the completion of the build, Rebecca provided sound guidance on the many decisions that needed to be made. Furthermore, she was able to translate our suggestions and ideas into manageable and compliant designs. All the documentation, compliance with changing building regulations and contract administration and coordination of the builders was handled efficiently and with minimal delays. Perhaps the most challenging aspect was liaising between ourselves as owners and the builders for tasks that we wanted close involvement (e.g. joinery). Rebecca was flexible and agile with the need to change plans as the projects evolved. In summary, Jill and I were very happy with Rebbecca Fullerton Architect and the outcome of the building produced.”
Dock4 Architects
Sustainable Design Services in Hobart, Tasmania
7July,2016
“We worked with Dock 4 on a new house design. They were extremely respectful of our ideas, preferences and style, delivering a concept that not only met the brief but exceeded expectation. In terms of design, we felt they knew where to hold back and where to highlight special features or inclusions, creating a home that promises to be both subtle and spectacular. They were happy to consult with our preferred builder throughout the process and were able to clearly explain the process from start to finish, outlining expected costs, timeframes and requirements.”
Katree Design
Sustainable Design Services in Hobart, Tasmania
4May,2020
“My wife and I originally employed Katree as an interior designer to plan our new kitchen layout. She has a superb sense of flow and efficiency as well as aesthetics. The result was so good, and working with her so easy, that we then employed her as our architect for a large bathroom and laundry extension to the master bedroom suite. She listened to our requirements and made many valid suggestions, many of which we adopted, but she was accepting if we disagreed and wanted something else. She always found a way to fulfill our needs. The end result was a building that was what we wanted, not what she wanted. This, from my experience as a building engineer, is an important quality in an architect, one that is sometimes lacking. Understanding and giving the client their dream is important. Katree certainly has the ability to do that. She also acted as our planning representatitive, having excellent knowledge of the process, and the application was handled very smoothly with no problems arising. We both found Katree a true professiona in all aspects of her work, always reliable and timely. We always felt she went the "extra mile" for us. At the end of the day the kitchen and bathroom/laundry extension are wonderful and we are very happy with, and grateful for, the work she did. We would most certainly recommend her as we have frequently done so already !”
Misho + Associates
Sustainable Design Services in Hobart, Tasmania
10May,2015
“Misho was the architect who designed & contract managed the construction of our Sydney home. The result was so fantastic that we commissioned Misho to design and project manage our holiday home in Tasmania. Both homes were recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects with our Tasmanian holiday home receiving a commendation. Misho's designs are sympathetic to sustainable outcomes which deliver creative living spaces with reduced running expenses: highly energy efficient, water conserving and beautiful/ natural materials. Since meeting Misho our lives have been introduced to quality living spaces and how to appreciate the joy of living in such spaces. Our homes are now the places that we prefer to spend most of our time together with family & friends.”
