Built By Drew

Built by Drew were exceptional to deal with. Drew and his crew undertook an extensive renovation of over 2/3 of our 1960's house over a very rapid 3.5 month period that was delivered on time and budget. Drew invested the time and effort up front to understand what we were trying to achieve and worked collaboratively and efficiently with our architect and interior designer throughout the renovation. He was also very patient with us and helped us to manage and work through the stresses that inevitably come from renovating. The care, attention to detail and creativity that the BBD team showed throughout the renovation meant that the look and quality of the final product exceeded our expectations. We can't recommend BBD highly enough and thank Drew, Karena and the whole crew.

We can’t rate Built By Drew highly enough. They were complete professionals, very skilled at what they do, but also fun and easy-going to deal with. They bent over backwards to accommodate our requests, patiently worked through any uncertainties we had about choices to make, and also made really great suggestions that we wouldn’t have thought of but that always turned out to be the right thing to have done. We absolutely love our new space, even more so because it was created by such a great team.

We found Drew and Karena fantastic to work with and recommend them highly. Our project was for a deck and pergola, remove a wall and replace with sliding doors, and landscaping. We have an older house which comes with many issues, Drew was able to come up with creative solutions for the space which has drastically improved liveability. His team of subcontractors were also easy to have around, and produced work of high calibre. With young children, I was very appreciative that the team was always well spoken and left their workspace tidy at the end of the day. We plan to do more work to the house and would definitely like to work with BBD again.

Conversion of existing brick garage to secondary residence (granny flat). This is an ACTPLA approved conversion which meant adherence to all building codes including disability capability. All invoices were received in a timely fashion and were in line with the schedule of our contract. Karena, their business manager was excellent in communicating Cost Variation Notices and updates to accommodate the changes made. The construction took 3 months to complete, Drew and his team were at all times punctual, respectful and clean. His team of tradesmen are excellent, and were so good; I hired a couple of them individually to undertake other projects in my home. During the conversion quite a few design flaws were identified which resulted in Drew needing to make amendments to the plan and construction schedule. These changes were easily accommodated and did not cause any delays. Quite a few other problems presented during the conversion which were not as a result of the Built By Drew building process. Drew and his team were excellent in identifying solutions and went out of their way to problem solve for me. The conversion was completed before the due date and I am 100% happy with the finished result.

We found Drew to be terrific. He listened to what we wanted, and delivered this with no fuss whatsoever. He is an easy builder to work with, and Karena who looks after the business end was always approachable and also was professional, completing everything to a high standard. Drew's quote was reasonable and there were no hidden costs or adjustments. We would definitely use Drew's services again and we would fully recommend him. He removed our old dining room walls to open up our kitchen and family room. Of course this required a structural beam in the roof. Drew organised the engineering and certification. His team also plastered the ceiling and walls. Now it has been painted you can't tell that the walls were ever there. Drew also provided practical advice about our entry and some other finishing suggestions that were based on his experience and saved us money. Thanks Drew We are renovating as money allows and our next project is to replace windows with sliding doors. We will be calling Drew for help with this also.

Built by Drew renovated our house to add a 4th bedroom, ensuite and walk in robe. The renovations were completed in time, on budget and to a very high standard. Drew went above and beyond what was even promised in the contract so that we got a really amazing result. All his employees and contractors were skilled and courteous. We love our new house and we absolutely recommend Built by Drew for any building or renovation project you may need.

BBD managed our renovation very professionally. They were patient with our learning curve and his team were great at their jobs and flexible. BBD ripped out our bathroom, laundry and kitchen and rebuilt them, built a covered pergola and refreshed the house with new flooring and a fresh coat of paint (that required A LOT of repairs) for our house built in the 70's. The kitchen rebuild also included a complete change, with a wall removed, a new roof beam installed and a door removed. This process was also managed thoughtfully as we were living in the house throughout the renovation with a 5 year old. We love our home, it is now better prepared for the vagaries of weather, we have a lovely deck to make the most of the outdoors, a bathroom that makes use of limited space and a kitchen that works hard for this pair of entertainers. And I cannot understate how awesome it is to have a clean/able laundry! There are constant moments of joy in this home and I can't wait to see the professional photos BBD have taken.

Drew and his team extended our 3br home to add a master bedroom, ensuite, family room, study and living room. The extension was completed on time and within budget to a very high standard. Drew and his team were great to work with and we will definitely hire him again, and recommend him to friends. We were very happy with the process and result. We lived in the house for most of the renovation and Drew kept the building work as non intrusive as possible. The site was kept clean. All in all a very easy extension for us and a good experience.
