Budgets were well annotated, value engineered, and costs were managed very carefully. Our project meetings were extremely productive as you coordinated the team and subcontractors for on-site walk-throughs enabling important decisions to be made and plans to be implemented in real-time. You and your team worked capably with council and neighbours, to manage as smooth a construction experience as possible, coordinating deliveries and traffic with harmonious relationships resulting. When changes were proposed or problems identified, you consistently took the initiative to find feasible, cost-effective, practical solutions that satisfied the architects, designers, sub-contractors and us, and typically solved issues very quickly. When the project faced some significant delays to critical components (sliding doors) just before Christmas storms you came up with a great interim solution, managed the supplier and reworked the project plan with minimal impacts to timeline and budget. It was amazing. I want to recognise the attention to detail you brought to the project, some of your design suggestions have been complimented by many of our guests. I really loved the interactive project management app which gave me great visibility over progress and streamlined communications. Thanks David!

We have recently completed a renovation of our townhouse with David from DCB and the fabulous Helen Carter from DCB Interiors and we are thrilled at the result! We first came across DCB in a House and Garden Magazine… we loved the interiors that Helen had created and I was drawn to the idea of working with a builder whose wife was an interior designer. We had some tricky spaces in the house that we wanted to re-configure and I thought it would be great to have the input of a designer if necessary. The result is a completely reimagined home! The new bathrooms and kitchen that Helen designed are functional, appear larger than they really are, but more importantly, look fabulous. Working with the ideabooks I had created, Helen has created a space that is sympathetic to our lifestyle and looks elegant. In terms of the build, the boys at DCB were also fabulous. The site was kept clean and the builders were sensitive to our neighbours and didn’t mind us dropping in (sometimes on a daily basis!). When we were travelling for business David kept in constant contact and we always felt like we were part of the process. David’s contractors were top shelf and worked within the constraints of our budget. We have also been very impressed with the attention to detail since the completion of the build. Any extra requests, additions or details we weren’t happy with have been addressed promptly and without fuss. More importantly, we have found David, Helen and the entire team at DCB to be such lovely people, it has been a pleasure to work with them. We can highly recommend DCB. They have turned our ugly little house into a designer sanctuary – thank you!

Living overseas, it's great to know we have a building firm we can trust to do a good job at a good price. Over the 15 years, we've used Dave and his boys on both large jobs and smaller, maintenance jobs across both of our properties. Dave's boys are always extremely polite and unfailingly leave the property clean and tidy.

DCB undertook an extensive renovation of our federation style house in East Lindfield. David has a full team of outstanding tradesmen that undertook the works in a timely manner and with excellent building expertise and attention to detail. David understood our needs and in fact most of the renovation took place while we were overseas. Using the Builder Trend app, we were kept up to date on the building status and were sent images and requests for confirmation on particular jobs, throughout the the time we were away. In addition David kept us informed as to any unavoidable changes in the timeline and cost variations. We are thrilled with the results and continue to be impressed with the quality of the building finishes. We could not recommend David and his team more highly.

We gave builder David Campbell an almost impossible task- renovate a Woollahra house which hadn't been touched in at least 10-20 years in a very tight deadline, so we could move in by Christmas. Not only did David meet this deadline but he impressed us every step of the way. David is extremely professional, honest, fantastic at problem solving and has an amazing ability to work through any issue without fuss and to the highest quality. This renovation has been in the pipeline for a number of years and prior to work commencing we did have reservations about living in the house whilst it was being renovated. Thankfully, you and your team made it possible for our family of 5 to continue our lives relatively uninterrupted. The site was meticulously cleaned each day which made for an easy transition for our family to keep functioning normally. Your entire team is consistently professional, motivated, accountable, and personable – a complete pleasure to work with. I wanted to take a minute and share some of our reflections on our renovation was completed for us by David Campbell Building (DCB). Firstly, to complete the entire renovation of the original house including the additions, in just over 200 days, was a remarkable accomplishment. When we embarked upon the renovation journey , all anyone could say was how stressful it would be. It wasn’t. That is a testament to the organisation, attention and meticulously thought out approach taken by DCB. They were always one step ahead to ensure we didn’t have those “Oh no!” moments. They seamlessly co-ordinated so many different trades simultaneously and this distinguishes them as a real custom home builder. Secondly, the quality of the workmanship on our project is a true reflection of the high standard to which DCB is run. The team is made up of many talented individuals all working symbiotically to build our dream home and headed by a strong leader. Nothing was ever too hard, complex architectural designs were easily integrated into our project and we now have a home of genuine beauty and character. We love it. Thirdly, the transparency of the financial aspects of the project simplified a very complicated process. The presentation and detail of each invoice, the nuanced detail and accompanying notes allowed us to be secure and knowledgeable about every aspect of the project, and the support of the administrative team made us comfortable about how and why our money was being invested. Lastly, the personal availability of the Director to us at all times during the project insured our comfort and contentment through the entire process; his knowledge, expertise and guidance had a huge impact on the tremendous success of the project. We are very grateful.
