Kim Alexander Builder

Check the photos and make up your own mind, this is one of his properties that he lived in and he cannot see the problem. 1/2 a meter of dirt has been back filled onto the boundary fence, the dirt is retained by stacking sleepers up against the fence (no fixings) and now the fence is falling over. Land is slipping and I discovered why our property flood's, yep there is a stormwater pipe under the hedge that the council have no records of. His suggested solution was to cut the steel vertical pipe and duct tape the busted pipe. He refused to acknowledge any issues or contribute to repairs. Do you think this is quality workmanship from a builder?

We couldn't be happier with the way our Queenslander renovation/ extension went. Kim has a wonderful team and great subbies. They were not only great at their jobs but also incredibly friendly and accomodating. Kim worked with us from the start and had a lot of great ideas to help refine the design and find ways to achieve what we wanted without compromising on our dreams or blowing the budget. Mark (the site foreman) made the whole process on site run very smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble. They worked with us on little changes that we wanted along the way and suggested a few that made a big difference to how well the house 'works'. The tradies were excellent at solving the little problems the 100 year old house inevitably threw at us along the way and the quality of finish and attention to detail were great. The project came in on time and on budget. The result is a really beautiful character home that our family loves living in. We have already recommended Kim Alexander Brisbane to a number of friends and are happy to do so without hesitation.

We renovated a 1920's wooden cottage and we wanted more space but wanted to keep the character and charm of the building. The project was always on time and within budget and we were consulted at every step along the way. The final result is a mix of new and old which was what we were hoping to achieve. All of the on site builders/tradesmen were easy to approach and always went out of their way to ensure we were fully aware of how the build was progressing. We are extremely happy and are proud to call our renovated house our home.

We raised and built under our Queenslander and signed a contract that the work "was of highest standard". This was not the case. We never saw the builder. The lowest quality chamfer board cladding Standard Tight Knot (STK) (LOSP) pine un-primed at lowest cost. The concrete slab fell towards the house and had to be repainted due to the defective finish. Now paint is peeling and it is an eye sore, The Driveway was cracked and damaged by builder works yet at practical completion the builder ooked us in the face and said "it was in this state before" The builder sent Practical completion demand when the house was left in an unfinished, filthy state with doors not locking, front stairs not removed and no internal access to downstairs. We engaged QBBC to spend a week to bring the property up to a habitable condition.
